I'm a mechanical engineer working for the oil production and refining industry... the job is fine but I'm getting old and a bit tired of the entire thing so I voted "somewhat".

My brother in law up in Waukesha, Wisconsin is an electrical engineer. Is it true how people in that line of work are a bit anal retentive? He even admits he is.

Artist, painter. Fulltime. Love it! I'm the happiest angry person in the world.

He actually said "occupation" in the title, then asked the question of "what do you do" (for a living, to add). You have a totally correct value of a pinch-point there, though, as what I do isn't a simple, artificial and manual job, it comes to a passion, an art-handle, an inspiration resort etc. But, mainly, that's what I do, that's what I'll do and that's probably something for which I'll earn everything around my life. (and, if things go great, I'll earn more than you...each "paycheck"... )

I'm a pastor and since a few months also a teacher (religious education). The work is fine but the last months is has been too busy and I've experienced a bit too much negative stuff. I hope and expect that's only temporarily. Normally I enjoy both my jobs.

I don't like my job, which has nothing to do with the things I like and I studied. It just brings me the minimum income for me to pay a small rent and have a decent living by minimal standards. (Though income here is small, like is expensive, unfortunately).
Working in the "fields" of culture is impossible here unless parents support you, and since this is not the case for me (don't ask why), I have left the world of arts and went for a job that didn't need any previous qualification - some sort of customer support application operator . It's sad, but at least it brings me an income double than that I'd have if being curator in a museum. But I won't tell you how much THAT would be, because it shames me.
@Rico - I hope your occupation will successfully turn into a job for you, not necessarily a steady job, but still a great one. Good luck at being a professional musician.

I study full time and work part-time in a Best Buy. Like a lot the first occupation (though at times I feel I shouldn't be in school but working in my field already, I was an idiot)... about the second one, well, it's not that bad. It's just a job, and for a job it ain't bad.
I'm also High Priest of a Dark Church and Apostle of the Anti-DT Congregation....

@T - Man, you do have a busy life... When do you get the time to "progelitise" the PA n00bs? @Atkingani - Are you sure you're not a country president? I'm sure I saw you somewhere on the tv... @Rocktopus - Before google-ing your signature for the "match the sig with the member" thread, and thus before finding out it's a lyrical quote, I thought those words in the sig would match a visual artist's ways. Coincidence?...Do you have an on-line gallery, or could i see what you work?
