Topic: "Other" prog band, part 1 Posted: March 12 2007 at 12:29 |
Sorry in advance if the ones I choose in your opinion don't fit in the poll or are unfair...I just tried...
Maybe for the most of you a poll like this does not make any sense, but for me, at first steps in this musical world, it is very very interesting...Please vote a lot...
Among the ones I know I vote VDGG...

"my top band ever is Pink Floyd"
I willingly didn't name King Crimson, Yes, Genesis, Pink Floyd and Jethro Tull cause I took tnem as "the ones"( staying at what I see is the common and popular consideration ) ... Here are "the others"...
As well as I willingly didn't name any prog metal one...

Too many good ones on there, but as long as Marillion is among the choices, I'll choose them every time.

Got to be Gong. Overall they're second only to Crimson.

I will go with GG. Just watch the Giant In The Box DVD, it's easy to see they're the best.

Somewhere in the central U.S. of A. last time I checked a map. Of
those listed; way too many of my favourites. Gentle Giant has
significant quantity and quality -- has the most essential albums of
any of these in my collection (eight great studio albums, and a
fantastic live one with Playing the Fool) but I adore PFM, Le Orme, Banco del mutuo Soccorso ,
and Magma, and really love albums by several others on the list
including Gong, Caravan, Can, Frank Zappa, ELP, Quintessence, and,
hell, it's most of them. if this is a trick question and you're really looking for "other' Prog band , well Focus, Gryphon and Maneige , Clearlight, Carpe Diem, Taal , King Crimson, Novalis , Crucis, Los Jaivas (as well as a host of others) would fit the bill. The more Prog
I hear, of course, the harder it is to choose a favourite. I've been
in an Arachnoid and Dun mood of late. So much greatness; so little time and
money.
