Totally agree.
Ah yes, William Henry Harrison. A Presidency of 30 days, and spent 29 bed ridden due to his illness. Gotta love it.
Hm...this is tough, but I guess I have to go with TJ.

Have to give it to Thomas Jefferson as the most brilliant mind of the time. In not for him, James Polk would be my choice as one of a few presidents fulfilling his election campaign promise and achieving quite a bit.

Considering these men are part of the History I believe that even non-Americans may vote now... I'd say that Thomas Jefferson was a giant among giants.
BTW, TJ and John Adams (great adversaries) died the same day: July, 4th, 1826, the day the US was celebrating their 50th anniversary. When Adams died, his last words were: "Jefferson lives!". However, TJ had died hours earlier...

I remember learning that Washington gave two pieces of advice for the country to follow upon the end of his presidency: The first was to not to keep permanent enemies or allies. So far, we have followed that well. The second was not to create political parties. Sadly, that hasn't been avoided....
