Same here. I can't wait!

How much do you think it will cost here in the UK? I want to know so I can save the right amount of money so I am not disappointed by not having enough money to buy the album.

The album is on offer at Play.com for £8.95 inc delivery ( http://www.play.com/Music/CD/4-/3308714/Fear_of_a_Blank_Planet/Product.html )

However I must ask you to support the band by buying the CD from the official PT shop(s)

It will probably cost you a couple of pounds more but these are the official stores and more than likely more will go back to the band...

Would we get an actual CD or just the music by buying from these websites?

I certainly hope this is the case. I would much rather have the money go to the artists than the record company. I have to wait for the release in the states.

Porcupine Tree have posted a 6 minute preview of Fear of A Blank Planet on their myspace, http://www.myspace.com/porcupinetree.

Nothing startingly new if you saw the Arriving Somewhere... tour. The sample has some absolutely beautiful ambient moments thrown in with almost Meshuggah-like riffs and some frenzied drumming from Gavin Harrison. I can't wait for this album.
When the world is sick
Can't no one be well
But I dreamt we were all
beautiful and strong

Ever since I saw them in october of '06 when they played their new material, I couldnt wait! Personally I think the 18 minute centerpiece will be a great addition

On the subject of leaking, I wouldn't even allow myself to listen to 6 minute myspace clip that they posted. I want it to be a suprise!

There's a new Fear Of A Blank Planet Mini-Site being set up at this moment:

http://fearofablankplanet.com/

Rumours are rife that the album wont be available for pre-order at Burning Shed as the band wants to maximise its chart position. I must stress that this is just a rumour at the moment though......

It looks like you wont be able to pre-order FOABP via Headphone Dust or Burning Shed.

I was getting a bit concerned that the album hadnt been put up for pre-sale on either site so spoke with SImon from Carbon Nation (the band's excellent fanzine) who had this to say:

"I've heard that it won't be available from Burning Shed, certainly not as a pre-order. Feel free to order your copy from your usual online/bricks and mortar based supplier."

This coincided with rumours I had heard too.I think this should have been clarified by PT as hard-core fans want to do the right thing by the band and buy from sources that will feed more revenue back to the band.

Anyway for the UK and Europe here are some links:

I'll add more links as I get them,if anyone has links to online shops that have the album for pre-order in N.America, S.America and Australasia could they PM me please.

The special edition has both stereo and DTS 5.1 versions of the album, and comes in an exclusive deluxe package featuring a 40 page booklet.

The band's website should really be advising fans about the Burning Shed/Headphone Dust situation......release date is less than a month away!

For our N.American PT fans Simon from PT Fanzine "Carbon Nation" suggests this on the Porcupine Tree Forum:

"Here is the deal folks - the 2 disc version will be released in limited quantities by both RoadRunner AND Atlantic. It will do the band no favours if people in the US start ordering imports as they will miss out on vital soundscan data from domestic sales this way.

Be patient and wait for the Atlantic version to show up online if you are in the US or Canada and order that version. It'll be cheaper for you and help the band more!
 "

It might have been mentioned already, but what would be on the 2 disc version?

It's a 5.1 DVD-A mix of the album, like the recent Stupid Dream reissue.
