Sorry, but I can't use the forum anymore. Pages take forever to load, sometimes a thread will load, sometimes not, or it will load almost but the reply form is missing.

Anybody else experiencing these problems? I've been experiencing these problems for a few days.

It happens on and off, I usually just put up with it or come back a bit later.

^ that's what I do too, but lately it has become almost unbearable. Right now it's ok, but just half an hour ago I couldn't even login (it took forever).

Yeah I've had these problems. It works sometimes and then I sit here for ages and nothing happens and I have to close down FIrefox and re-open the forum page to get it to work. Very annoying.

I have found google syndication slowing it up sometimes (I think Snow Dog raised thread about it a while ago) but I've not noticed anything recently.

No issues here. Is there any common theme in the issues? Type of browser, point at which it hangs, etc?

Mine usually slows down when I click on something. Like a thread link or post reply.

If anyone gets this, check what it says on your status bar (i.e. is it waiting for google syndication or a picture).

Sometimes the status bar says "loading from progtology.com" (signature images), sometimes it's progarchives.com (scripts which display reply forms etc), sometimes it's google-analytics.

I don't see a pattern in what the status bar displays ... the common problem is that the reply form isn't displayed, and the browser (Firefox) says that it's still loading *something*.

Currently it's much better ... I don't know why. Let's hope it stays that way!

BTW: The right place to look for a reason would be the web server logs. Usually the log contains informations about how long pages take to generate and/or transfer.

^ sure, but if it never finishes? The web server log is more accurate and tells you more about the problem ... it also contains info about the elements that the page loads from the server, such as scripts.

Sometimes I wait forever for the home page to load. Other times the forums themselves are slow. It's annoying, but it clears up after a while.
