Last week I received some very positive PM's and e-mails about Nexus their new album, is it becoming a 'future classic' ?

The eternal 'a matter of taste'  senores Wink This evening I will mail Hans from Progwalhalla about more interesting Latin-American prog because he has good contacts with Rock Symphony and Mylodon Records, both labels are responsible for lots of great new prog Clap Thanks to Hans I have discovered Bauer, Tarkus, Seti, Astralis, Spin and the amazing new Argentine progrock band William Gray, highly recommended Thumbs%20Up

Maybe a 3 stars album.
I didn't like the lyrics too much. The instrumental songs are very good.
I don't know if there is something wrong with me.. I just prefer other bands.
Or I have to listen more Haddad albums.
The genre? Maybe Art Rock, because they play various styles.

I have just recently been hearing some more things from South America, and I must say I am impressed. Spin XXI is a very interesting newcomer.

I mentioned HADDAD in the thread about "prog-beauties"... they're fine and I don't think they are neo-prog, instead they are new symphonic! Smile

Has anyone mentioned Haddad yet? They are listed on this site as Neo Progressive, although Iīm not too sure they fit in that category.
I was listening to their album from 2004 and it is simply amazing!
I plan to review the album this week.

Do you know the chilean band Abrete Gandul ?
Well, I don't. But I heard the songs here in PA.
It seems wonderful!

I think it's their only one. They must be on hiatus, or defunct, or working very slowly. Their day jobs interfere, I'm sure.

RC2 that I know are not even remotely metal - typical symphonic prog IMO. Don't know though if they released anything else apart from their first eponymous album.

During my interviews with Angulart (Chile),  Amagrama and Nexus (both Argentine) I was told how difficult it is for progrock bands in South-America to survive because of the huge impact of the commercialism Angry Nonetheless, today I realised that the last months I have only added South-American bands (see my reviews on this site): two weeks ago Diaposao (Brazil) and William Gray (Argentina), last week Astralis and Seti (both Chile) and next week I hope to add Spin from Brazil (Atkingani is helping me to collect information in order to present a decent biography). And I am playing mostly South-American prog the last weeks: from Supay and Nexus to Seti and William Gray, excellent prog so ...

.... A BIG HAND FOR THE SOUTH-AMERICAN PROG Clap!!

Thanks for the heads up. I haven't been to Mylodon's site in a while.
