Can someone get me up to speed on this tour? I've heard that Roger will be performing nothing but Pink Floyd music including the entire "Dark Side of the Moon" LP (God, that sounds familiar.....like maybe someone else did that.........??). I've also heard that he will play much of his own solo material with a few PF tunes. I've also heard that his opera material will be included in his set..................Does anyone know what this is all about?
As much as I hate to say this, after hearing what his voice sounds like now at the Live 8 show, I don't think I'm interested....

Im going to the Earl's Court show!
The only tragedy is, the origional plan was for Andrew Latimer to be the guitarist there. how good would that have been?

I thought the show was excellent ,as did other friends who went - better than excellent really.
For informarion about the show, have a look at the 'Live Performances' thread and check out the ' brain damage' site via. the link in JOOLZ's post. Just about all you need to know is there. |

David Killminster is the guitarist for the tour. i dont know any other names but i think its going to be a pretty massive line-up. I dont really like that sort of 'Pulse' style show but to see Waters play DSOTM from start to finnish i can certainly make comprimises.

I can do no more than tell you where to look, so please go to the LIVE PERFORMANCE REVIEW thread under 'Roger Waters plays Darkside of the Moon'.
The band is similar to the 'In the Flesh' DVD line-up. Graham Broad is on drums, Snowy White shares lead and rhythm duties with Dave Killminster, Andy Fairweather-Low plays rhythm and some bass when Rogers on acoustic or just singing, John Carin is excellent on keyboards and he may play some slide I think, there is a second kbds. player whose name I think is Andy Wallace and there are the three back up singers who are also excellent incl. Carole Kenyon and Katie Kissoon. The set list ia available on the 'brain damage' link I have referred to provided by JOOLZ in his post. There are some excellent reviews there too. As far as I know, it's all PF music. If there is anything else in there it would be something from his solo albums which I am not familiar with. There is no reference to 'Ca Ira' at all. Hoping this helps guys. If you have the chance, get there! |

Ok, on doing a bit more research, the second kbds. player is Harry Waters and the sax player, Ian Ritchie.

Have already my tickets this March 12 at Estadio de Monumental de Universitario (5 blocks from my house), Central VIP section, row 9, pretty good seats, wanted to go to Super VIP (a special section in the front - front) but it was US$ 240.00 and that's really too much for me but even worst, the scenario is going to be pretty high, so it's necasary to have your head in an uncomfortable position to see the whole show, plus no photos with flash are allowed there..
The songs he plays not from Pink Floyd are:
Perfect Sense 1 & 2 from "Amused to Death"
Leaving Beirut, apparently a track based on hois personal experience when hosted by a Palestinian family when his car wrecked in the Middle East.. No Ca Ira at all MRGD, you are right.

Highlights of the set list are:
1. Set the controls for the Heart of the Sun.
Snapshots from the "Arnold Layne" original b&w beach video footage
2. Shine on you Crazy Diamond.
Once again and again, Syd's (bored to death) "goned pictures", but with a fantastic shooting that probably came from Carl Sagan's TV Series "Cosmos".
3. Comfortably Numb
That "Stoned-Doomed" guy...
Anyway...See you there
HIGH VIBRATIONS GO ON...

Too bad he's not coming here... Though, when you think about it... He
might be frightened. Who knows how our people would react to his "Each
Small Candle" lyrics. Some people are quite stubborn, and might take
offence at that...

He must be arriving Lima in this moment, somehow the plane number was filtered and a huge group of fans must be there right now.
He may go to Macchu Picchu tomorrow and back for the concert on Monday.
