Hi..

Am sometimes synth player/general dogsbody of Landsend and Transience.

I just love creating music, wish I could do it all the time really! However the family comes first!

My main band is called Into the Dementia (bonus points for anyone who can say where we got the name from!). We're a progressive metal band hailing from Staten Island, NY. Right now we are back down to a three-piece, with just myself on guitar (recently turned 17), a drummer and vocalist (15 and 16, respectively). We've been around in one form or another for 2 years now, first beginning as a thrash band, then doing the prog/power thing, and now all out prog metal. My main goal is NOT to create prog metal in the vein of Dream Theater, because much of that stuff isn't very progressive to me. My vision is to take REAL prog and make it metal, without those lame chug-along pseudo-metal riffs. We've played a bunch of shows on the Island, as well as a gig in Philly. We're looking for a keyboardist right now, but to say that there are no prog fans on Staten Island is an understatement...let alone progsters who play keys!

I've played in a couple of other bands, as well. I did live work for a now-defunt thrash band, Decimate, and played one show with a power metal band Infinite (totally local bands, of course).

Aside from ItD, I'm involved in a drone/ambient project called Quiet, which consists of 2 guitarists and 2 bassists (as well as some keys). We'll be recording on this coming Sunday.

I'm in an avant-garde metal side-project called Sub Arbore Sedent. We have material written for an MCD which we plan to record...sometime!

Lastly comes my doom band, DoomChapel. We're a mix of funeral, classic, and melodic doom metal. We haven't rehearsed in a while, but hopefully we will be getting back on track soon.

I should also mention my one-man black metal project, Necrotic Grimlair, which I created a couple years ago. To put it mildly...it was horrendous!

I'm hoping to get a site to put my music on soon... then you will all witness the horror!

I am the guitarist for the Seattle based prog metal band Waking Hour. Our sound is heavily influenced by Savatage/TSO, Fates Warning, Pain of Salvation, and Rush.

The song "Identify" is our epic track, and consists of four movements. It's also my personal favorite.

I have a band called Aardvark. There is a bio & everything - which is all made up. It's actually just me & my PC. I'm not very gifted as far as playing any instrument although I could probably hold my own on Drums. I play a bit of Guitar & Keys.

I think that my gift (such that it is) is in composition. I use my PC & a bunch of Samplers & Virtual Instruments to realize my compositions.

The songs at the top of the list are the newest & the most Progressive. Some of the stuff at the bottom may be worth a listen. The lower you go on the list, the older the stuff is - The oldest song on there was done in the fall of 04/spring of 05 - when I was a complete newbie at computer recording. I'd like to think I've gotten better in the interim.

I play guitar, bass, lap steel, banjo, mandolin, dulcimer, flute, keyboards, Moog, ARP, and PAIA synthesizers, and drums.

I played in various bands throughout my late teens and early twenties. In those bands we did mostly originals and some covers. Nothing too prog inspired, more "bar band" stuff.

Since 1995 or so I have recorded 7 albums and 7 E.P.'s of original music in my home studios. My music is pretty versatile ranging from acoustic to heavy metal to bluegrass to electronic to prog. Since I have gotten a Mellotron (software version) my music is starting to become a little "Proggier". All of the albums/E.P.'s I make are private press type of things. I write and record them and then press a few of them to give to family and friends. I have no contracts with labels or anything. I do it because I love and need to be creative and compose music.

A lot of my albums and E.P's are "experimental" in nature. One of my E.P.'s called "Moog Music" featured pieces in which I played pre-recorded taped through my Moog Micromoog synthesizer. As the tapes played through the Moog I would then "process" the tapes using the Moog's filter and modulation capabilities re-recording the "processed" tapes digitally on my computer at the same time. I have another E.P. called "Duets For Synthesizer" in which the pieces consist of Moog Micromoog and ARP Odyssey synthesizer "duets".

The last album I recorded is called "A Thread Of Light In The Cloak Of Darkness". It is an album of "loop" music created on guitar and electric piano. All of the pieces start with one loop and then I add other loops on top of the first until the pieces become walls of sound. This idea was very much inspired by Brian Eno. Since 1996 I have also played with a band called "House Music" in which 100% of what we play is improvised. We tend to be quite "Proggy". I play guitar, keyboards, and drums in "House Music". Now that I have the software Mellotron I am dying to get a laptop computer so I can play the Mellotron "live" with them as well. I have recorded 18 albums with "House Music".

I am also half of a bluegrass/old style country blues duo called "Spooky Garcia" in which I play guitar, banjo, mandolin, dulcimer, and lap steel guitar. We are working on our first CD.
