Following the spirit of this thread: http://www.progarchives.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=34322 (the one on Black Widow), I want to propose to create, at last, the separate entry for the 1999 re-recording of The Fall of the House of Usher by Peter Hammill.
The information about the re-recording appears currently as a side-note in the 1991 version page. However, this 1999 work is not a re-release of the earlier version, but the completely re-recording of that, with different music, and, almost for sure, with differences in the line-up.
Someone played drums on 1991 version (Guy Evans?), yet no-one is credited for that. 1999 version has no drums in it, and the other instrumentation is also different.

Reading Peter Hamill's own story of the new version [here ..... http://www.sofasound.com/nlnov99.htm ....] makes it quite clear it is a significantly different recording, so yes I agree it should be a separate entry ..... I would suggest title it 'The Fall Of The House Of Usher (New Version)' and put a comment in the track listing section to explain.

1. The new version is added as a separate entry. (I put the information about the complete reworking in the "Release info" subsection, however. My fault... ) 2. I have both versions, but the earlier one was presented to me as a gift, on a burned CD, therefore I have no info about that record.
It has some drumming and percussion in it yet nobody is credited for that in the line-up for the 1991 version. I don't know who was the drummer (Guy Evans? Chris Judge Smith? Peter Hammill himself? Anybody else?).
Also, it seems that the violin work by Stuart Gordon was added for the new version, hence he shouldn't be credited for violin playing in the 1991, but here I may be wrong, therefore I apologise in advance if I'm wrong indeed.
3. I suggest to change the cover of the 1991 version. For example, for this one:

There was no violin playing on the first version of Usher. And all instruments, including drums, were played by Hammill. |

Thanks, BaldFriede!
Then the line-up of it should be changed: Hammill should be credited for percussion and drumming, and Gordon to "dis-"(?)/mis-credited for violin.

And Hammill should be credited for vocals not for Roderick Usher only, but also the voices of the house.

Thanks Freide & Fassbinder .... the original album changed to "- Peter Hammill / vocals "Roderick Usher" and "The House", all instruments" .... the violinist removed ..... new pic [Fassbinder: remember - we need 200x200 pixel pictures - that one wasn't big enough - I got the larger one and edited it down to size] .... minor change to the new entry
