There are some problems, controversies, and inaccuracies with the East of Eden discography here.

a. The line-up for East of Eden (1971) is incorrect. The correct line-up will be shown below.

b. The order of 1971 albums is wrong. It shouls be:  Jig-a-Jig (a compilation; still with the SNAFU line-up), then East of Eden (July 1971) (with massive personnel change already), then New Leaf (November 1971).

c. Some additional albums information (including album covers, tracks, and lines-up; not including track lengths and release information). I'll also try to add them, but see my point below.

d. (The most painful point, I have to admit)
From one hand, I'm going to add some missing albums by East of Eden. From the other hand, there is a general controversy about the group discography. Their official website (http://www.eastofedentheband.com/) considers only their first two (Mercator Projected and SNAFU) and last three (Kallypse, Armadillo, Graffito) as East of Eden albums. There is some logic in that. From East of Eden (1971) on, the line-up is totally different, with the only exception of Dave Arbus. After some releases even he leaves the group. Also, I have heard both East of Eden and New Leaf -- they are hardly Prog. Well, this is not a strong argument -- first of all, it's only my opinion, secondly, there are other examples of non-Prog albums from Prog groups (the famous Genesis and Yes 80s albums).
So, here I am -- having added the albums, I want them to be removed.

Your thoughts...

It's getting late and I'm off to bed now, but my initial thoughts on your question are:

1. If these albums are by the band calling itself 'East Of Eden' which has continuity with the band that released the other albums, then they are correct to be here. I don't know anything of the history but it sounds like a bit of 'politicking' by one or more factions(?)! Many bands had line-up changes, some quite drastic, and yet are still considered to be the same band, eg Renaissance which changed line-up completely between second and third albums.

2. Site policy is that ALL albums by a band are included, ie we don't omit some just because they are no longer Prog, or any other reason for that matter.

Maybe we should put the whole thing before the Art Rock specialists?

Maybe... For the moment, I more tend to want them to stay (after all, I've added them... LOL).

Meanwhile another error is found -- the right title of 1996 album is Kalipse (also seen at the cover), not Kallypse as it appears currently.

The story of the band is as follows: after releasing two albums, the personnel was changed, and the only original member of the band remained. Then he stayed for another couple of albums (it may be called/considered "transitional period"), and, finally, left. After some new releases the group disbanded, but, after some 20 years after that, three original members re-united under the same name. In fact, the name East of Eden has never been changed. So, according to the site policy, all the albums should stay. The only problem/question is with the band's official site attitude/relation to the "mid-era" albums.

a. East Of Eden line-up updated

b. New Leaf bonus tracks added

I've had a look at the 'official' website ..... without knowing anything more of the history, it certainly looks like a 'political' thing .... their viewpoint is that of Dave Arbus and have simply erased the rest as if it didn't exist .... that is their problem ... I think we have done the right thing by entering all the albums .... unless we have some EoE expert who can tell us otherwise ....

OK, we are welcome! Let's them (the newly added albums) stay.

But, Joolz, please, correct the title of 1996 album (it seems that you've just overlooked it) -- it appears as Kallypse currently, but it should be Kalipse (see also the cover of the album itself).
