Great new Delirium live album recorded in July 2006 near Trento, in the north of Italy. Many classic Delirium tracks from "Lo scemo del villaggio" and "Dolce acqua" were performed, plus a couple of Jethro Tull covers too!

5%20stars ANOTHER CONTEMPORARY CLASSIC

This is the thing that gnaws my mind!!! In fact Franz Di Cioccio produces an album of another Fabio Zuffanti's project and another big classic is in the CD player of the Progsters and any cultor of the good music!!! I don't know all Zuffanti's projects but this album remember me Acqua Fragile, PFM, Banco, New Trolls, Eugenio Finardi, Osage Tribe, Yes, Genesis, Alan Parsons Project and many other classical bands from Prof and Prog related world. For exmple "Orpheus" in my mind sounding like a perfect mix between PFM, New Trolls with Acqua Fragile vocals and Eugenio Finardi arrengements. And it is also very personal!!! The more Rock parts remember me the more Hard Rock parts of Osage Tribe. Also the drums parts in many other parts remember me the style of "Cucciolo" Favia. But, in general, today is the mix of classic band to be winning, because already it was written all. Zuffanti knows it. But exploits this for to create original music. In fact "LuxAde" have a proper soul in the vein of true phantasmagoric Italian Classic Prog. And what it was able to be a lack becomes a winning thing. Interesting the distorted bass because it's not common in the Prog, thing that diversifies this album from another contemporary Italian Prog albums. In this moment I listen "Enciclica", not easy track before more listen occours for to understand fund this complex composition. This thing is another Fabio Zuffanti's positive quality. In my mind this album is already a big immense very classic album from a unique Italian Prog World. Not only (but also) for the big production of one of the best drummers of the World and Universe.

Summarized: Another 5 stars of my discography. Fabio Zuffanti is not a genius. But today is already it was written all. But with a good distorted bass this thing seems more personal. And we enjoy!!!

5%20stars A CLASSIC WITHOUT TIME

This album (the second like Premiata Forneria Marconi, the second really Prog) is a classic without time. I haven't words for describe the feeling of this album. This album is a bomb!!! Simple and complex, Hard and Light, is an album without compromised. All song are in possess of feeling and power that after 30 years is even more strong!!! Besides the music of PFM is a Rock version of Mozart, things that with a heavy connection of Baroque parts gives a strange sensations. In this album, however, this situation is not heavy and the music is in possess of a certain measure. if "Appena Un Po'" is romantic, "Il Banchetto" is the triumph of baroque. But all tracks is suspence between romantic and baroque.

Summarized: Another classic of the Italian scene. This album is one of the more representative also of the Prog. And it is one of the more Baroque Symphonic of the music. Another important point of merit it is represented from the be aged well. With this music is not easy thing.

5%20stars A LIVE ALBUM? NO! LIVE ALBUM

For many reasons this is ther live of Italian scene. In really is also one of the five albums of Italian Prog (maybe of RPI? N.B.: I said Rock Progressivo italiano, not Italian Symphonic Prog...!). This is the "Made In Japan" of Area. The first song "Luglio, Agosto, Settembre (Nero)" is improve that in their debut LP. Is more Jazz Rock and Art Rock to the same time and more dragging. I love this song and demetrio Stratos emotion with this unique voice. But all the band give at 101%!!! The second song is "La Mela Di Odessa", excellent Jazz Rock with a right measure thing that does not ruin ever. And will please also to who hates the Jazz Rock. nice the part with the eat of an apple and the successive recited sarcastic part. "Cometa Rossa" have a greek lyrics (tribute to the homeland of Demetrio Stratos?) is a song with an absurd rhythm (composed) and a very dramatic flavour. And for me is the best song for Demetrio's unique voice, because the triplephony is the pivot of the vocal part! "Are(A)Zione" is the more jazz song of this live album. Besides this piece contains a weird solo of contrabass, of not definable style. In conclusion a warm and heard version of the Socialist hymn "L'Internazionale" That shows like the good music haven't political colors.

Summarized: This is the live of RPI. This is the live of Area. This is one of the best and warm live of the 70's. Highly recommended to all progsters in the World.

An 18 pieces band, inspired to "The Silmarillion" of J.R.R.Tolkien...a very special and good project with lots of guest playng cello, violin, viola, horns, harp, flute.. and so ! Fantastic female voice !!

A quick piece of information for all you RPI lovers: Ubi Maior's PR (and wife of keyboardist Gabriele Manzini) told me the band will be playing at least two dates in the next few months - on March 2 at the Blues House in Milan, and on April 28 at a Tolkien-themed event in Buccinasco (a suburb of Milan). I might be present on the second date, if I am invited to lecture there (I probably will, but don't yet know if I will accept).

I listened to the samples too, and, while I wasn't too impressed by the operatic vocals, the concept does seem to be interesting. Perhaps you'd like to check this out.
