I HATE GETTING SICK!!!! I HATE IT, I HATE IT, I HATE IT!!!! My daughter came down with pneumonia, and now I'm getting something. I tell you, I used to be healthy as a horse until I had a kid. I love that little runt more than life itself, but miss the days when my almighty immune system would kick the arse of any foreign invader that dared enter in.

Nose is running faster than Jesse Owens, and got a nice little cough, as well.

Nothing as serious as pneumonia, but I am recovering from a cold and what might be seasonal depression.

Sorry to depress you further, but I went down with the flu in the second week of December and the cough is still lingering. My wonderful singing voice hasn't recovered yet (something my family are quite pleased about) and all manner of cough sweets, lozenges, medicine, paracetemol, antibiotics have failed to shift THIS GODDAMN COUGH. The looks I get on the Tube in the morning when I launch into my normal 8am coughing fit...

I made an appointment tomorrow for an unrelated ache; but, I think I'm going to bump it up to today.

I'm not sick right now, but I was for 2 weeks in January.  It started out as a sore throat and headache, then it seemed like a cold.  And then one morning I wake up and I'm having trouble breathing.  I felt pain in my lungs when I inhaled.  When I went to the health center next to my dorm, the doctor examining my though I had pleurisy.  So that day really sucked because the pain didn't go away.  But then I felt surprisingly well the next day.  So then I went to my doctor at home and got some antibiotics to take.  When I was taking them one morning, I got really bad heartburn like 15 minutes later and that bothered the hell out of me.  That pain didn't go away for a week, and it was especially annoying when I was eating.

But now I'm better and thankfully healthy!

My son had to be in the hospital the week before Christmas with something called RSV bronchiolitis.  Not exactly the way my wife and I wanted to spend the holidays.  Ouch

Around that same time I caught a small stomach bug that went around (I think it was called Noro virus or something like that).  It lasted for less than 24 hours, and thankfully that's all I've had to deal with this winter.

It's never failed, I get sick in Febuary--right after my birthday, which was yesterday. It sucks, and has already begun. I came home and slept until right about ten minutes ago, and I'll hit the sack as early as possible after I make myself eat something.

And talk about seasonal depression, that sucks too.
I'm a reasonable man, get off my case

I haven't been ill enough to take a day off in about two years.

I had a pretty minor cold a few weeks ago, but I'm perfectly healthy now.

I'm wondering if that's what I have. I have a constant 'tickle' in either my throat or lungs (can't really tell) and a dry cough that's driving me nuts. I slept upright in my chair out in the living room last night.

I had something like this about a year ago and spent almost a week sleeping in the chair. I don't want to go through that again!

I used to get sick constantly, like a few years ago I had a year long cold that almost didn't go away.
This year I have, surprisingly, not had even a hint of a cold. No sniffles or anything.

In your case, it's more likely to be that well known Welsh STD, scrapie...
