Daryl Stuermer, since he can cover a lot of Hackett's guitar work with Genesis in very good fashion...

Went with B.B. King on this list, and Pat Metheny would definitely be close by...

Pete Townshend is my favorite as is Keith, but Pete speaks just a tiny bit more to me than Keith does.  Whether he is rocking with the Who or by himself he is always top notch.

Voted Frank Marino.

Big%20smileThere is a very strong temptation to post a link to this webpage, on serious music sites, to give lot of self-respecting guitar fans a chance to laugh themselves each into a serious hospitalising hernia, the way this poll has gone.Confused

I vote Scott Henderson too - one of thsoe gitarists who would rank in many jazz rock fusion fan's top ten.  A point to start for the discerning guitar fan is his Torn Down House, a major rock-soul/blues/jazz fusion guitar album - while Henderson's work with Tribal Tech and Vital Tech Tones has many a jazz critic going weak at the knees

Comparing with the ones that I've heard from that list, my vote goes to the great Hammett! He's the definition of FEELING in Thrash Metal.
