Disregarding the meaning, I'm not a fan of the title either. Not sure why, but I just don't.

The anticipation is building too rapidly. I may burst. The title seems very unRushlike but I like it, and the lyrical theme should be interesting.
"One had to be a Newton to notice that the moon is falling, when everyone sees that it doesn't fall. "

When I think of "Snakes and Arrows," I think of Native American mythology for any reason. I think it would be cool if the album followed that line, but given the background, I doubt it, though I'm sure the theme exists in that culture as well.

I think they mean the classic 80s period.....Permanent Waves and Moviing Pictures. A more stripped down sound (relative to the last couple of albums) and guitar, bass, drums being the main focus. I think importantly if it is a return to that era in terms of sound then hopefully the instruments will be allowed to breathe and the urge to fill every single sonic space with sound will have abated...

That is a good thing, but the focus needs to be rather on songwriting and hooks, something Rush were very, very good at, but lost mostly after Roll the Bones or around that time.

As long as it avoids the horrid production of Vapor Trails, I'll be happy.  I like the songs on VT , but the production is so distorted and compressed that it is nearly unlistenable for more than a few minutes at a time...

He said something about seeing if they got better after 25 years. He didn't like the synth period, so hopefully this back to roots era will get him hooked again.

Just checked the interview - shines a positive light on the interview with the producer listed here earlier. Seems like Alex was ok about him as well.

Commencing countdown.....

EDIT: Alex' reaction to still not being included the RnR Hall of Fame is brilliant : "I couldn't care less...." LOL Just imagine, Rush next to some of the crap people managed to get in there...
