I do not know if I did the right question.  But at any rate the reply is simple.  You love more the Purple with Blackmore, the Rainbow or the Blackmore' s Night?  Sincerely also to compare Deep Purple and Rainbow is impossible.  Nevertheless I want to compare Blackmore like person and musician and not for the genre proposed (the Purple have open the road to the Judas Priest and to the Motorhead; Malsteen, Narnia, Rhapsody, Dream Child, Manowar etc... without the Rainbow do not would exist; the Blackmore' s Night restored the Medieval and Renaissance music to the limelight [even if I am alone a premium honest group of Folk Revival]).  Therefore you should not vote the group but the person and the musician Blackmore.

I don't know whether I need to state it once again... However, I chose the first option (DP MKII and III), followed of course by the second. What I heard of Blackmore's Night didn't really impress me that much: I think there are many other groups who play the same kind of music much better than they do.

Anyway, I'm moving this to the PP and PR Lounge - that's where most of those projects belong.

I chose the first option, although I also love the Rainbow with Powell and Dio era.
The album with Doogie White was his strongest since "Long live rock n roll " so that would be my third choice.

Blackmore´s Night has become very monotonous.

I don't see the need for this poll. In politics, they would simply call for a vote by raised hand (meaning the outcome is overwhelmingly obvious). There is one thing though, that could be debated - did Blackmore's infamous Atitude/Arrogance cut short a grouping that could have gone on to produce a consistently  high quality body of work to rival the truly great groups of Rock music ? DP mk III made some fine music, but who knows what could have come out if Gillan, Glover & Blackmore (reality is they were the major songwriters in the group) had continued together. In some interviews I've read, Blackmore mentions that once the money started rolling in from the songwriting royalties, frictions developed about the allocation of the money as it was shared equally in a 5 way split. From the succeeding albums, it wasn't hard to notice that Lord & Paice weren't getting too many credits. But who would deny that their instrumental contributions were not essential to the DP sound. Gillan felt that Fireball had things they could build on. Blackmore felt it wasn't adding or even worse not showing DP progressing (rumour has it that the inclusion of Anyone's Daughter was a big compromise on his part). Ah well, musical genius has its' privileges ...

Blackmore's Night. I do like the Rainbow line-up with Dio though.

Blackmore is great independant of his surounding, or musical interest of the moment, he plays guyitar and people should listen.

Love The Ritchie.

best phase was rainbow, for that was his pet project, but Deep P was fabulous with the organ and guitar exchangin leads, Blackmore's Night is really just fun and games, with nice music to acompagny it.
