I am often sitting in my chair or lying down. Edited by Modrigue - January 17 2007 at 16:07 |

My favorite and most frequently used way is lying down in my bed, at night, when everything's quiet, with my cats beside me ( ), with noise-reducing headphones, and in complete and utter darkness, so my senses are focused only in the music.

Sitting in a chair. Because I do computer stuff while I'm listening. I usually put all my files in one playlist and put it on shuffle. That or I choose cds in an order and play them all through. Or just random stuff, but usually just sitting down.

In my armchair - literally. Headphones on, notebook tuned into PA. And sometimes in my car, or when running (eh, did I just admit to exercising? ).

Interesting. I CAN'T be sitting down or lying. I must walk around the room while listening.
I must stand to perceive music. I'm just a weirdo I guess |

Mostly sitting in a chair while I'm home. I also listen to music when
I'm going somewhere by bus and/or train, and during math lessons (helps
me concentrate).

not a weirdo!
this could be because you perceive music as an intellectual challenge and/or find it highly stimulating, as opposed to a relaxation process - people react differently to music, some have just GOT to dance when they hear it (primeval response) and some just sit and try to figure it out, some have it as wallpaper while they're doing other things. i do all these things depending on the mood/type of music, though i don't dance because i feel utterly stupid doing so!
BTW - they say you should set up your music system as you would a television set for best effect - at the the focal centre of the room. in one room where i do most of my listening the tv takes least priority, and the stereo is the central focus of the room, so maybe i'm a cross between an "intellectual challenge/relaxing process" listener.

Thanks Fred! That's true I guess...I can't listen prog in a car...it is simply too dangerous! Because a) I must pay attention to some solo or whatever (and I'm not focused on the road 100% anymore) and b) my adrenaline and soul start to fly, and I start to press accelerator pedal harder. Pity. I always wanted to listen the music that I love during driving. When I passed the driving test, I realised that I can't... Edited by clarke2001 - February 02 2007 at 07:30 |

I voted for 'other'... That is, when I sit before my computer and work on my dissertation. However, I also love to listen to music when doing any kind of housework, even cooking.
