Topic: Thin Lizzy or Uriah Heep Posted: December 15 2006 at 16:15 |
"Whiskey in the Jar" is one of my favorite guitar solos of alltime.
while "Lady in Black" are some of my favorite lyrics of alltime.
I have choose Uriah. I can listen to late 70s Heep and some 80s Heep toa greter degree than late
70s Lizzy.

Very difficult, but I voted Thin Lizzy. I saw them live in 1977 and they were fantastic live!

Well, Thin Lizzy aren't Prog-Related or Proto-Prog, but I'd say that about Uriah Heep as well .... Ducks and runs for cover out of fear of angry UH-fans.

Both are not prog, but Thin Lizzy are so much better - love that band, which I can't say about UH.

I prefer Uriah Heep, but I must admit that I don't have much knowledge about Thin Lizzy. I have only an anthology ("Dedication", which is fantastic) and their magnum opus ("Live and Dangerous", simply one of the greatest live albums of all time).

I think it doesn't matter what Thin Lizzy is, anyway they were a Great Band of Hard Rock of all times!!

I'm a Heeper, so my vote is obvious, they mixed Prog, Hard Rock and Proto Metal in an outstanding way creating a mysrterious atmosphere hardly ever achieved by another hard band.
Amazing until Gary Thain left.

Yeah Heep for me too. Ivan sums up exactly why I love the band so much. However, I love 'Firefly' and 'Sea Of Light' as much as the earlier albums.

Music has always been a matter of energy to me. On some nights I believe that a car with the needle on empty can run 50 more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio. Hunter S Thompson

Almost any band is better than Heep. So Lizzy, no contest.

Tough choice. I voted for Uriah Heep in the end, one of my all time favourite bands. I like Thin Lizzy a lot but I haven't listened to all their albums yet. But fortunately time is on my side...

To Philéas and Snow Dog . So....................
Dreammare - Thunder and Lightning.
Stealin' - The Rocker ( Live )
Real Turned On - Emerald
Tears in my Eyes - Black Rose
Love Machine - Massacre
Gotta rethink this.... .
