no option for "all of the above"??LOL   having followed Led Zep avidly since first hearing LZ1 in '69 every subsequent release was savoured with breathless anticipation by myself, i appreciated every twist and turn the band made in their recordings, even LZ3 is still one of my favourites despite the heavy rock detractors - you never knew what they were going to do next - i even applauded their efforts on "Houses of the Holy" especially "that reggae track" and "Hats Off" and my enthusiasm for the band is still undiminished after all these years, even up to their last album "In Through the Out Door" which was poorly received by many, though i must agree this was not their best album, but still knocked the socks off most stuff around at the time. Led Zep raised the bar very very high and even they struggled to reach it towards the end, but they have more than made up for that with some brilliant music in the years since then - rock on guys!!Thumbs Up

then i guess you like the 1979 knebworth version from the DVD Wink

Late answer... I only have The Song Remains the Same, so I don't know any live version of "Achilles" (except the fragment wonderfully played by Dream Theater on A Change of Seasons of course Smile). I'll probably try to track it down one of these days, cause I really LOVE that track.
Reading through the thread, I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one rating Presence so highly - some others seem to see it as a bold, acomplished work too. After the abundance of two-star reviews it has been getting on PA lately, I was beginning to think there was something wrong with me... Hopefully I am not lost. Tongue

OH NOOO!!! I just clicked on IV but as a matter of fact II is the one!!! Heard "Whole Lotta Love" at a friends place, was blown away and had to have the album - bought every LZ-album from then on as soon as they were on the shelves. I am not ashamed to admit that I love (almost) every single one, although they made it a bit difficult for me with "Coda".

Music has always been a matter of energy to me. On some nights I believe that a car with the needle on empty can run 50 more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio. Hunter S Thompson

i like this statement, i also think Zepp is a live band 100%. HtWWW is better (the sound, the production, the voice, the instruments, the shape, the creativity) than any other live concert of theirs with just one exception - it doesn't have the "Stairway to Heaven" from "The Song Remains the Same" concert/movie.

sorry for not seeing your answer
yes the double DVD (http://www.progarchives.com/Progressive_rock_discography_CD.asp?cd_id=13529) contains the knebworth 1979 live version of "achilles' last stand" which is - i think - one of the greatest highlights of their career and of rock music. and about "presence" you should be more relaxed: how much do these 2 star reviews count in front of both page and plant saying "presence" is their favourite and probably their best, also?...

"Houses" and PG are in a virtual tie for me.... I give "Houses" the hair's-breadth nod because of The Rain Song... one of the greatest rock ballads ever written. BTW, I was getting divorced after a ten-year marriage and was listening to PG when Ten Years Gone came on.... Talk about a purging of the soul.....

are twenty men
crossing twenty bridges
into twenty villages.

Still laughing that "In Through the Out Door" actually received a vote.
