Ah yes. Say hello to Alex and Jamie for me, when you're in there, won't you? Thanks.
I hope to catch up in the new year and be able to visit Riffs again, so I may see you there sometime. Do let me know if you'll be attending anything. Have a great Christmas and everything, if I don't hear from you before then.

I am having Wiltshire panic right now, it's the week before, the week before Christmas. Last year I moved house on the 20th December and Christmas was a hap hazzard affair, this year I have dyed my grey roots early in preparation for the "big day".......... and just realised the thing I knew by the 21st of December last year but have been putting off thinking about............. the box of cake tins that Granny left me didn't somehow move with me........so here I am at twenty past midnight trying to work out where , oh where can I buy a decent 24 cm cake tin from for my Chrimbly Cake....... and where oh where can I buy edible glitter from??? See if I was still in the old country I would know where to get these items from instantly, ......
I guess tomorrow I need to don my daps and pound the streets of Wiltshire and hunt these little things down.......... all so that in 12 days time the kids can pick out the cherries and leave the rest, the beloved can pick off the icing and marzipan and just eat the cake, and I can chow down to my hearts content knowing that I can start the diet in January!

Dyeing your grey roots? Is this an obscure gardening practice? I certainly can't think a young lady such as you means it in any other context...
Now if I've got this right - your husband eats the marzipan and icing (bleagh!), your children eat the cherries (double bleagh!!)... so that just leaves the cake itself, sans icing & sans cherries.
HUZZAH!
I'm on my way

unfortunately not......... the beloved eats the cake but dispises the toppings, the kids, well they just crumble the whole thing, scattering the crumbs like they had "we plough the fields and scatter" playing in their heads.....although they'll eat the cherries first......
as for the roots.......er........... yup a bizarre gardening ritual, carried out under the cover of darkness........ .....oh how i wish!

You can send me the icing and Marzipan then
Can't believe that you got a parking ticket on a scooter. The Swindon SS must be out in force for Christmas. This must be part of the government's plan to encourage us to use eco and traffic jam friendly transport then

Settling down with a Stroud boy, I have learnt to use the word "daps", I wear my daps to go shopping, he leaves his daps in the middle of the lounge, if I misbehave I will get a good dapping........ see I have even learnt to use it in context!

PC, shouldn't your interests include 'laughing my daps off' ???
ps I used to know Stroud quite well... there are worse places to come from...

You can be done for drink driving on a bike, but I dont think you can get a ticket. I'd like to see someone commute down the M6 on that last one.

Bikes and scooters are far more eco friendly than cars and seldom if aver cause traffic jams. Pushbikes even more so. As a bicycle and motorbike rider for many years I can state that I've never been stuck in traffic on either. There's always a gap that you can escape through

If I could post pictures under IE7 I'd put up one of the Goodies' trandem. Could anyone oblige?

Neil - internet explorer 7 - i "upgraded" to this browser last week and have mixed feelings about it! there doesn't seem to be any apparent advantages with this - the back, favourites and refresh buttons are so tiny you can hardly see them, and to post on PA you need to go back and learn scripting all over again! there is a way to put up pictures though. if you have a photobucket account upload picture to photobucket, choose the bottom "IMG" script, cut and paste into PA message window and that should do it. IE7 seems to be a step back, i tried to re-install IE6 but it won't let you, "later version of this program installed etc..".
here's a "Goodies Tandem" i got for you...

Neil, Swindon only has one Traffic Warden, so I have no idea how P-C got her Scooter booked. Maybe a policeman/woman issued it?

There is a whole army of traffic wardens in Harrow, they all go round on little bikes, and pounce if you leave your car for more than 3 minutes!!

that all depends where you come from... if you're in a primary school in the cotswolds, then daps are cool...
yeah, now you've given me the context Jim, 'puddies' are hands, but not an expression I've ever used... I had an ex who always referred to them as 'donnies' ...run that one past the mrs!! |
How about "sprack" and "yampie" ?
My mother was from Whiteshill, relations in the forest & the Slad. PoorJim - he needs translations !
