Master Petrucci uses Ibanez, so I should choose that.. is the best looking, for sure, BUT...
Nothing matches the purity of sound of a Gibson

I think Grestch are the coolest looking guitars or at least that style. Alex Lifeson plays an all white one that looks totally sweet. Swing musician Brian Setzer has several that are really cool as well.
I don't play guitar (learned classical guitar for about 6 months though) so I can't comment on quality but I do like the looks of the semi-acoustic ones.

Fender. I wouldnt be as god as I am now without one. I can caress the neck so fluidly ona fender.
Beck, Knopfler, Hendrix, even Marley sported Fenders.
I feel more confident in my playing whn I have afender around my neck. Its the way to go.

a Gibson man, an aged Gibson, Ibanez looks sharp and sounds pristine but from my experience they lack the comfort of the Gibson and i know i personaly play better when ive got the comfort of a well made instrument, stick with the classic, go Gibson!

The best sounding (and looking) axes are Paul Reed Smith's hand made beauties.

I think Fender, Gibson and Ibanez all make really nice guitars, but since I use an Ibanez myself, my vote has to go to them

Gibson, specifically, "Old Black."
Neil's sound is so good.

It's ultimately a matter of taste. I voted for Ibanez though, as they
make great guitars for little money. Gibsons sound really wonderful,
but you only get a fraction of what you paid for, they're extremely
overpriced. (in USA the situation might be different, but here in
Europe they ought to cost much less). Fenders are generally pretty good
value (especially the Mexico-built Classic series and any
Japanese-built model), but some models suffer from the same problem as
Gibsons.
