Topic: Favourite Film Composers... Posted: November 30 2006 at 01:21 |
Well, this a list of may favourites... all of them great musicians... I like to know who are your favourite and why...
My favourite is Danny Elfman 'cos I'm a huge fan of Tim Burton's movies... and Elfman's music has the perfect mixture between the old school of fim soundtracks (Herrmann, Mancini, etc) and his new ideas...
Best regards...

Nice list. Not aquainted with many of them. Had to go with Walter/Wendy. "his" work on Clockwork is most memorable to me.
Mancini always makes me smile though.

I like Hans Zimmer a lot, sometimes he seems to just do variations on the same theme, but they probably all do, very good list you made there.

This poll has been done several times before, but you have some interesting choices....I liked Bernard Herrman, who did the Hitchcock fims, but I forgot about him and had already clicked for Moricone!!
ps don't wish to be negative but please, don't all go voting for John Williams, he's boring.......

I really liked the composer of the scores of almost every Albert Brooks' movie... I don't remember his name, but his work in "The Muse" and "Defending Your Life" are memorable without being sensationalists.

Please, instead of Elfman's repetitive crap (if you've heard Batman's soundtrack, you've heard them all) I pick Morricone: The Mission (this would be enough, but also...), Cinema Paradiso, The Untouchables, Once upon a Time in America, The Good, the bad and the Ugly, For a few more dollars, a fistful of dollars... Please...!!!!!

The Muse music was composed by Elton John and orchestrated by Geoffrey Alexander Defending Your Life music was composed by Michael Gore and orchestrated by Shirley Walker. Michael Gore has done many songs for movies such as Fame, Footloose and The Fas and The Furious.

Elton John did the song.. but I'm talking about the orchestrated score... it's amazing, although the Defending Your Life score is more memorable.
Thanks for the info
