That's my bugbear about this project- that it will be reminiscent of that rancid 'Stars On 45' project, created by an ex member of Golden Earring I think. Basically, that had some disco beat and some singer that sounded like John Lennon, with various Beatles songs glued together for the disco market... I must admit, what I heard was eerily reminiscent of that- something the critics have neglected to mention.

In reference to Stars on 45:

The big difference is that, as far as I can tell anyway, all the music comes from the Beatles vaults.

Side note: "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" I believe is from the Beatles Outtakes or maybe the Anthology series complete with the "lost" verse.

I'd love to hear how a progressive producer or artist would have put this experiment together.

Oh yeah, it's definitely The Beatles' tracks, don't get me wrong. I may well pick up the 5.1 version to have something of The Beatles in genuinely good sound. It is scandalous why one of the most consistently brilliant back catalogues in music is out there mainly in non-remastered form.

well we heard a track from this album last night on Dick Heath's LCR Radio Prog show, "strawberry fields forever" and if this track represents what the thing is about i won't be getting it! honestly it sounded like bits of Beatle songs stuck over a demo tape, clumsy and contrived - what were they thinking of? is this a case of the King's new suit of clothes or what??? -

THE "KING" IS IN THE "ALL-TOGETHER NOW"!!Unhappy

Steve
I'm not sure which version of SFF they used - perhaps it was one of the demos from Anthology 3? I did read somewhere that the drums on the end section sound awesome.

Yes, I was listening to it on Dick's show too. Bit of a mess that track, imho.
