Well, the Paraphonie should definitely be a nice treat, too bad it has to wait till after the study. It is too bad you are not one for the ol' vinyl as I know Ma Banlieue Flasque it is on ebay at the moment.

I will see what I can dig up in the French scene.

Listening now - very interesting indeed. psyche prog i would say, w. some very twisted, experimental edges, so one might want to edge it towards the RIO cat. - only on track 3 now though - hmmm, world/folk elements.. I would [thus far...] say RIO it is, imho. some def rock in there though. and some definite twisted-ness makes it un-classifiable in any singular genre. generally, any-thing but the kit. sink music w/ rock elements I put in the RIO category myself...

I have been looking around and I am wondering if any one is going to be able to shed some light on this band/album.

WHITE MARIE ALDER & RED NOISE - New the widow of the owl/ophelia

From what I can tell this is a very rare Zeuhl-ish album from France 1970. Just wondering if anyone has any information on the band.

Post Punk is an exceedingly all-inclusive term in many ways. It, obviously, stems from the origin of punk, but veered away from the simplicity of musical structure/chord progression into more complex and/or experimental, often art-sy, territory. This while, again of course, [hence the moniker], retaining some of punk's attitude shall we say; its stance of challenging status-quo pre-conceptions. Often sound wise retaining some of the rawness, passion, & intensity [like frigging amazing & hot razor guitar] of the former. Ah! Yes! I flipped when I heard them too! I asked around a lot, but didn't learn much. It seems they never recorded/released anything unfortunately. They were from Toulouse, France (late '70s/'80s). They were originally a quartet (drums, bass, keyboards, guitar), and finally a trio [no guitar]. I was told they were a band that had led on for Magma, and only did one thing: a long version of a piece called "K'a" which was constantly in a state of flux and evolution. They split up when their drummer left [Roger Lahana] to become a scientist.

Thank you so much for that information, though it is a bit saddening to hear they did released anything. From what you said before, that track was something like a 30min epic. For some reason on the mp3 version it seems to cut out at around 5 min. Is this just me? or am I imagining things.
