Yes, I poke my head in here every now and then but get quickly lost because I am only a colonial.  Wink  Too many years away from the motherland!  LOL  (Actually I don't have any English heritage - it's Irish, French-Canadian, and Polish).

I absolutely loved the English countryside when I was there. Anyone been to Bath? Elegantly beautiful town. Also really liked Ludlow.

Bath is 30 minutes from me and I've been there a few times.  Last drove through there earlier this year and got lost in the one-way traffic system. Pinch

I went to University in Bristol as well, so I've never been too far away.

Peter Hammill has quoted some ancient grafitti from the Roman Baths there, in one of his songs.  Infact, his Sofasound home isn't too far from there (I'm not sure where it is, but it's in the county of Wiltshire, which is the same county I live in.  Bath is in either Avon or Somerset).

Yeah the Roman baths are fascinating...quite an amazing excavation. Ever eaten in town? Just wondering if a great little restaurant called Wood's is still there.

No idea, sorry.  There is a good music venue there though, apparently and I've been told by my brother there's a decent music shop there too.

Once I've got a new car, I may have to do some exploring.

the top photo is Upalong in Clovelly, in north Devon, and the other is Dartmouth Castle in south Devon. i have strong family links with Devon and Cornwall going back many years.
