I was posting elsewhere and earlier I was writing an e-mail.
I've found something to rant about, so off I go to the other thread...

Old fogies can be immature too, but most of the time they're mature and moaning about the inaccuracies of EastEnders and have a "Wo is me! It wasn't like this back then!" look on life.

Nobody's mentioned sheds for a while!
I was listening to Porcupine Tree's "Blackest Eyes" on the way home from work tonight and I happened to notice that the chorus contains the line "I got secrets in my garden shed", so I'm just wondering if there are any other mentions of sheds in prog songs?

I just saw that show last night, James, for the first time...a most strange and troubling programme. I also like The Office which I didn't at first, but it's a remarkable show- Spinal Tap in a building.

EastEnders is terrible!
The Office (the English original) is marvellous.
However, Ricky Gervais is even better in Extras. I don't think Extras has hit the States yet.

No, I don't think I've heard anything about it on our Public TV. Wishing I had BBC but that requires a pricey cable upgrade. I have heard somewhere about some 'extra' Fawlty Towers that are rarely shown-- perhaps they'll be released on a special DVD. They really should remaster that show and give us some extras.

Well I've only heard of 12 episodes of Fawtly Towers and almost everyone one is perfect.
I'm a huge fan of Red Dwarf. I was round a friend's house Saturday morning and he said he doesn't find it funny... weirdo!
Extras is great, but some of the people in it are from English shows, but not all. It had the guy from LoTR in it, as well as Orlando Bloom and David Bowie. Good stuff!
It's not on BBC now, but it may end up on satellite. I don't get satellite, but I do get digital, so it may end up on BBC 4.
Also, you never know, but they may have snuck clips on youtube.

Each Fawlty Towers *is* perfect to be sure. I don't think I know of another show I'd say that about-- even Python had a slow moment here and there, but FT is flawless. Wonder if it would've maintained that level for another season or two

I know H.T., it's a stereotype it seems.
I actually quite like that style anyhow. I really want to become a grumpy old man!

Dear god, IMO Ricky Gervais is the worst thing to have happened to comedy in a long time. Speaking of which, why are modern comedies so terrible compared to some of the older greates like Python and Fawlty Towers?
