So yea, anyways, in school today I couldn't talk to the girl very much, but I think she smiled at me (or much MUCH more likely was smiling until she looked at me) but either way, hell, romanticism's about the idealness, not the actual occurance

You know, I think girls tend to smile at guys when they think the guys like them. A lot of very pretty girls keep smiling at me... that's why I came to that conclusion. There is no way that many girls would like me.
In other news, Helen... well, there's nothing really. It mainly consists of us looking around and then our eyes meet for a while, and then we shyly look away. Maybe I'll make another song.

Yeah, know the feeling w/ the whole eye contact thing, it's awkward and weird. That's kinda what made me notice this one girl that I currently like, but I didn't start liking her until I actually sat down and talked to her for a while. I wonder why they keep making eye contact though...

That's actually how I noticed Helen in the first place; the weird awkward eye contact thing made me notice her pretty eyes, and then I got to know her (somewhat, though I've barely scratched the surface).

Yeah, though I've learned in the past, it's probably the LEAST reliable way to tell if someone likes you or not

Friend, you have to do something about that. Let go the fear of being rejected. Rejection is a very key moment in one's process of learning how to aproach a girl properly. Once you see that rejection is not that bad (you don't loose a kidney or a leg), you start feeling a lot more confident; also, it helps to catch the body language, wich is also useful in term of knowinf if someone actually likes you, or you are just imaging things.
| I am not as afraid of rejection as you might think. But, as far as body language, do you have any suggestions of what to look for? |
Lots of smiles at you; considerable disminution of the social distance while speaking (I've heard that northern people feel uncomfortable when talking to one of us, since southern people's social distance is shorter), general sense of no rejection to touch (hands, hair, arms). No fear for contact while sitting togheter; no fear of sitting togheter. Sensation of a growing intimacy, complicity between both of you, specially with the eyes. First, break into her personal space (I don't know the correct term for this in english, but is the distance that you keep while talking to others. Among relatives, a disminution of this distance is not strangem while with others, it is, unless you have some sort of intimacy. Sorry I can't explain this further, hopefully, you know what I mean). Anyway, see if she let you get a bit closer while talking. That indicates a lot of things.

Well, to quote myself from several times in the WOMEN thread, "I'm f**ked" and no smartass comments about the literal meaning of that!

¿How old are you, exactly?. (Meaning, I've heard that a lot of people here is young).

Listen: this is pretty much like learning to ride a bike; you have to fall into a volcano a lot of times until catching the trick. But I can tell you one thing: you have to be totally zen about it. "I like you. ¿Do you like me?" "No, sorry" "¡Oh, thats ok; I'll talk to you in 20 years, on the class reunion or something!". You'll waste less time that way. Save the intense feeling for meaningful things, don't waste them on your first attempts. You'll be torturing yourself with imaginary situations. In that same time, you can keep learning / waiting until something clicks on you again. and again and again...
