My wife's a black belt in Sudoku... and knitting.
The Shed Song cannot be performed live until such time as Mystic Fred and I sort out the royalties situation ![]() |

The Shed Song??? - are you writing one Jim? can you send me a demo?
![]() Atavachron -
Kateda is a form of self-defence developed by Tibetan monks, there are 21 steps including kicks and punches, no katas, the training concentrates on "central power" defence, meaning the defence comes from within, at a high level of training one's body can absorb kicks and punches without injury, one test which was done by the masters was to be surrounded by up to 5 fellow students and they would drive punches into their body simultaneously with only central power for protection, and i don't remember anybody ever getting hurt, even the girls had this test, but not the following one - this test we had to learn was having half a brick (split along its length) whacked against your bare stomach to test your central power, making the brick break. I got to be quite good at this and "performed" at public demos around London. I don't know if or where Kateda is being practised today, as I was doing it in the 80's. I got to black belt but lacked the commitment to continue, it got very much more involved, starting classes etc.

My favourite martial art is Bacondo. It is performed with a large frying pan and some nice bread and ketchup. Not sure of the health benefits 'though. |

I reckon between us we could come up with a concept album about sheds. Tales From Topographic Sheds? The Shed Lies Down On Broadway? Selling Sheds By The Pound? |

That's fascinating, Fred, thank you...always looking to expand my knowledge. I love the focus you describe on 'central power' and absorbing punishment instead (in shed) of just learning fighting techniques. |

Don't tell me you guys have never heard of the Grateful Shed...San Francisco's last hippie house. It's across the street from the Grateful Bed (a motel) and a pharmacy called the Grateful Med.

![]() Not to forget the original shed song, by the Beatles - Shed! "Shed! I need my mower - Shed! Not just any strimmer - Shed! Oh Sh+t I lost the key - Sheeeeed..." They don't write songs like that any more (although Marillion tried, with "Three sheds down from the Candy") |
