The Quagmire of the Middle East

Along the dirt road there's hundred's of dead bodies
who we've freed
Each has its own coffin with a flag, a dirty rag
in a plastic bag
For today is the day we bury them all
Cause they died needlessly
Fighting over fake wmds

The Quagmire of the Middle East
yes it's the quagmire of the Middle east
way far over there
so it's not over here
no, it's not over here
because it's over there

Let those people go
Said the burning bush to Saddam
"Go **** your mom"
Was his response
And God was despondent
So he flipped a coin
because insurgents had killed everyone off

Maybe punch out a power chord or three.

We can go unpolitical after this album.

How about going natural and skip all electronic instrumentation?

Okay, you're in; but only if you leave.

Oh you'll never rid of me, Anderson, I'm like a pile of raisins on the street that gets stuck in the ridges of your sneakers so that when you get home it looks like you've stepped in dog poop but you haven't...THEN what, hmmm?

Add bassoon to that, and we have an excellent Hard Rock track for our next album.

You mean, like, adding in the sound effects of the tossed TVs?!? Awesome!

Never thought to do that...

The Supreme Court Show

Home from work O'Connor
Decides to call it quits
To enjoy what little life
She has left just a little bit
I will no longer be the centerfold
She said as she turned to go
Leaving behind the supreme court show
Supreme court show

Rehnquist locks his bucket kicked
And goes to Heaven or hell
Now he's dead on his deathbed
And the nation says "oh well"
I will make my bed
With God tonight, and then he dies
But can he fail, armed with his chocolate surprise

Take a little trip back with chief justice roberts
Listen to the new get inaugurated
Whether he belongs or not
It seems to be our fate
And there are in fact
2 more judges we need

Then...then...then I'd write a f**king concept album about it!

I think we spend too much time in the studio. I will leave, to read the papers, and then I'll be back.

Election of Plenty

"You didn't win," said old Jeb out loud
"Easy now, there's the loser's spot"
Gore walks dejectedly
Bush cooperates
The new American president
The new national embarrassment

GORE WON THE POPULAR VOTE
THE ELECTIONS WERE SABOTAGED
PAT BUCHANAN IS A FOOL

It's all done.

We now have the lyrics for two whole studio albums (Whistler on the Edge of Time and Selling New England By the Dollar) as well as a sh*tload of stuff we can release on a rarities disc (all my random lyrical noodlings).

Great job guys.

Alright! Political stuff's done! That means we can get back to simpler stuff...

Like my jazz improvisation/rock opera about Billy Crystal and the giant space slug.

Oh, so it's finally time to record the albums? I'll be back as soon as I finish reading the newspapers.

Billy Crystal and the Giant Space Slug

Billy Crystal walks his dog
But gets eaten by a slug
It's god's punishment
For his eternal wrongs
And he lives inside the slug
For a long long time
Writing down these rhymes
I am billy crystal
So screw you all

Like this?

It would make for some killer hard rock.

Anything interesting? And why are two eyeholes cut out in the newspaper? I saw you sitting on a park bench reading it across from a nudist resort. Wink

Yes-- picture discs, and collectibles inflated beyond reason; lunchboxes, gravy boats, pen & pencil sets...

Err... I can explain... I was looking for inspiration to write a concept album about the human body...
