Valkyrie Profile II: Silmeria is amazing. Tri-Ace/Square-Enix games have a certain charm to them.

I've stumbled back onto Neverwinter Nights again, it's been over a year since I played. I''m playing a fanmade game at the moment, rather than the official campaigns.

So I'm playing NWN2.
If you love RPG's in general and especially like stuff like Fallout and BG, GET IT! |

I can't, I only have a 1 GHz. computer. It can barely run Neverwinter Nights as it is, so Newerwinter Nights 2 it won't play at all...
I've been playing the first NW in the past couple of days actually, I managed to acquire some Bioware add-ons (Witch's Wake, Shadowlords and Kingmaker). So, is it any good? I am presuming it is. A few people complain about NW (such as the camera angles and some silly plot ideas, plus some playability issues). I also hear the new one has horses, does that add to it? I've played Sacred +Plus+ (A German game, in English) and that's has Horses in it and that's a lot of fun, so I hope the horses work well. Edited by Geck0 - November 03 2006 at 18:22 |

NWN1 is only good when you can look beyond the abysmal interpretation of DnD3.0 rules. Avoid stuff like power attack and expertise cause it's going to give you a major headache getting it to turn ON. Don't bother with both that horses module and Darkness over Daggerford. I have a pc that can run NWN2 and it had serious trouble with those two. As for the rest of NWN1, the OC's (all three) SUCK badly. Think predictable childlike story in which you'll be doing the same thing over and over. (in the Oc it's get four items from four different areas in ALL CHAPTERS) Camera mode is something to get used to, I use the Top Down and use the middle mouse button to adjust realtime. It's something that needs some training. Also, all AI and especially those of henchman is abysmal, you'll never get them to do what you want. Get NWN1 only for the custom modules or multiplayer. (SOU is pretty good with someone else, but you'll notice the quality dropping rapidly near the end! lazy developers!) |

I've had NW for ages and have compled the first OC. I will play SoU and HotU eventually, but I've been playing some custom modules, including that Dreamlands one (it's a series of three long large modules) and seems pretty good and it doesn't seem to slow my machine down too much.
I also use top down view, but I don't have a middle mouse button (or middle scroller). Chase mode is horrible! I walk into walls and all sorts. At night it's even worse, I don't want to carry a torch instead of a shield (being as I prefer axe/shield combo on a dwarf) into battle! Well I'm not likely to buy the new module (I didn't buy the other three premium modules either). I have downloaded Darkness over Daggerford, but have yet to try it. So you think my PC will struggle with it then? Apparently HotU will only run on 1 3 GHz. or higher, I shall put that to test sometime! I do need a new computer though... I don't play any games anymore apart from the occasional flash game (the bloodier the better). The last two games I had on my PC were Quake II and NFS: Underground. Also, I used to spend way too much time on Aldebaran

It seems I missed out on Aldebran (isn't that a type of cereal?).
I actually logged-on Distant Lands earlier and the world is still the same (I could find places I used to go), but hardly anyone was online and none of them I seemed to know... Oh well. I'll log-on tomorrow and see if there are any more familiar faces. |

Seeing as I couldn't sleep, I decided to log onto "Aldebran" Don't recognise anyone, and it's damn quiet. But I'm going to stick around in case I see some familiar faces. BTW, you should come visit! http://mud.tap.de/ |

Yup, the tilesets are really heavy somehow, probably bad programming. Even on lowest settings my pc gets choppy. |

I'm about 4 hours into Final Fantasy XII. It's very different, but I'm enjoying it so far.

Is that version 1.2? Apparently it's far less buggy now, but the town sections apparently do slow the game down. I may give it a go, but I suspect I'll get frustrated. |
