Great Post!

Thanks. I'm working my way through the top-250 to calculate what the rankings would be if we only considered ratings where people actually took the time to review them. Pretty interesting so far. The albums where people have padded ratings are pretty obvious.

They aren't though to pick.LOL
Should be interestingSmile

Favoirte from Lefty would be "Magnum Opus" a great peice of classic Kansas material. "Carry on..." would be second for its personal hitsory.Clap

A toss up between "The Wall" and "Cheyenne Anthem". I went with "The Wall".

Magnum Opus by a landslide! Then again, I tend not to enjoy Kansas's lyrics, so it makes sense that the most complex largely-instrumental song should be my favorite. It also seems to have a more... I hesitate to use the word "mature" sound, but that is what I think the rest of the album seems to be lacking. While the rest of the album (with the exceptions of the not very prog songs Wayward Son and What's On My Mind) seems cartoony and preachy at the same time, Magnum Opus is both complex and somehow seems to have better tone.

Magnum Opus followed by Miracles for me - while the music is superb, I do agree with the comments about the lyrics...
The important thing is not to stop questioning.
