Although I really like Iron Maiden I voted for Santana.

Well, I haven't listened to them since I was a kid (Powerslave was the last album I bought), but there were progressive moments in their music. Especially on Piece Of Mind (I defy you to listen to "Where Eagles Dare" and not find it to be progressive). If a band like Death is on here, then Iron Maiden deserves to be here.

In my opinion, Santana deserves his place in the Jazzrock category while Iron Maiden has nothing to do here.

Santana.
My only observation is that Iron Maiden is prog-related and the supposed controversy lies within its actually progressiveness, while Santana is under Jazz Rock (a defined sub-genre of Prog Rock, though flourescent itself), being acknowledged sufficiently aS a prog/progressive/whatever character.

Seems that within a month we've had a flood of Iron Maiden and Santana reviews. In your opinion, who deserves to be here?

ps. This isn't a compare/contrast poll; so, please no, "these bands have nothing in common and a comparison is pointless"
