Brian May from this list. It lacks many other greats though. And btw,
it's Stevie Ray Vaughan, not the other way round like you wrote in the
poll.

I voted Blackmore. SRV, Gary Moore are also excellent.

Gotta say Howe, Hackett, Fripp, Zappa, or Hendrix...Although many of the others are as good...

I'm voting SRV, I think a lot of the other guitar players are better in a band setting.

too many good choices. it always depends on my mood.
1. Jeff Beck 2. Brian May 3. Eric Clapton 4. Frank Zappa 5. Steve Hackett
....but that list might be entirely different on another given day.

Strange list... I'd go for Fripp, because.....
ROBERT FRIPP = PROGRESSIVE ROCK GUITAR

No one had voted for Hackett, so I had to vote for him.
And because he's the one I prefer amongst the ones I've heard of course.

Tough to choose between a few of those, but I have to go with Hackett. My close second is Jeff Beck.

Fripp is unique. A trailblazing technical master.

from the list I'm for the moment into Holdsworth and Jeff Beck... out of the list there are many like Di Meola, Robben Ford or George Benson (his scat along the guitar is simply spectacular)

Blackmore for me, of course... However, this poll contains guitarists that are not featured in PA - therefore, I'm going to move it to Non-Prog Music.

From the list Hendrix. Glaring omissions:
John McLaughlin
Larry Coryell
Jan Akkerman
