Heard their name Gecksy but not the music. All I know is they are on the great Poseidon label in Japan (run by a right miserable cant incidentally). It was looking pretty good until this happened:

(snip snip...which is similar to snip snip and Dream Theatersnip snip...)

Well I don't like Dream Theater either, but I'm willing to listen to something by them nevertheless!

Sounds like something I'll like. Especially since Lightning Bolt is mentioned.

From memory my first interest was sparked whike reading a review of Kroko's first album. They put a likeness to them as well. Do you know there material Assaf? If you have not I really do recommend them.

Also good you see you have taken such a liking to Lightning Bolt. Which albums have you hear by them?

I have

Hypermagic Mountain
Wonderful Rainbow
Live show - St Paul MN, July 4, 2001
Live show - Halloween 2003, Pink Rabbit, Providence
New Year's Eve Show, Dec 31st 2000

Thumbs Up

That does look like and interesting one, had a flick through google for any information but the searches to a very quick turn into the Japanese language.

But this is what was mentioned for genre:

 INDUSTRIAL / AVANTGARDE / POWERELECTRONICS / NOISE

Not quite sure what powerelectronic is?

Alongside this and the bands they are likend to, I don't think it could be too bad. I think wait for Yuko to see if he can tell us anything from the Japanese seraches. Also do you know if this is a full album or Demo? I know when we are talking metal anything on Cassete is usually demo, so the recording quality many not be too appealing.

Hmm.. if my mom says it's alright maybe i'll snipe this one. Cause im quite the fan of industrial, and noise and what not. And i'll just assume powerelectronics is just "Electronic".. but more "powerful". Or something -.-

And i'm as lost as you on the whole Demo or LP thing.

I'm not that good with the underground Japanese scene BV. Typing their name only turns up an old manga from the 70s of the same name.

Tried 恐怖新聞 + 高円寺百景 (Kyoufusinbun and Kouenji Hyakkei) and came up with this:

http://vanilla.vis.ne.jp/cgi/shop/index.html

Has some sound clips of various Japanoise

Incidentally their name means 'Terror Newspaper'

Guys, there seems to be a lot of avant prog/noise available on UK eBay at the moment.  Some dude is selling his whole collection of all sorts of stuff.  It's worth checking out.

Also seems to be a lot of Nurse With Wound, Merzbow and Current 93 stuff.

I've found some Kronos Quartet that I may try and bid on...

"Dominick Fernow (Prurient)
He owns his own label and record store and is one of the most respected noisemakers in the U.S. What more could he want? Everything apparently. Earlier this year, Fernow decided that if he wants to have the best experimental music store in New York, then he has to have the best product on the floor. To Fernow, this means buying buying buying. In just five months, Fernow has spent over $50,000 on limited noise tapes, over $10,000 on CD-Rs, and nearly $6,000 on vinyl. But that's just the beginning. Fernow plans to expand his store to other areas in New York and is even planning on getting his store in malls in California and New Jersey."
------------------------------------------------------------------------

That's Awesome...

I wonder if he has the "Art Is Over" box (With the Octopus Tentacle Glued to the inside of the box.. only 50 exist) by Gerogerigegege.

Shocked

Gerogerigegege might be one of the most annoying and Non-Sensical groups i've ever heard. Although a few by them actually are.. easy listening:

(not really a work friendly site.. but your good in these links)

http://www.artnotart.com/gero/rev-nonefriendly.html

http://www.artnotart.com/gero/rev-helldriver.html

http://www.artnotart.com/gero/rev-endlesshumiliation.html
(.. easy listening stuff^)

But most the rest are "Heaping Pile Of Audio Vomit".... Which i happen to love.. like this one:
http://www.artnotart.com/gero/rev-45rpmperformance.html

----

As for the Kyofushinbun... Nope -_-

Gecksy, do you know the meaning? Even worse! By the way I found a Poseidon sampler buried underneath piles of shiite with a Daimonji track on it. Haven't listened yet but will

I presume the meaning is too obscene to be repeated here then?

It can't be as bad as Fukkeduk...

Not obscene Gecks. Just a strange band name. 'VomitDiarrheaSpurtSpurt' or thereabouts
