I don't remember that one, but based on the fake crowd noise, lip-synching, guitar-neck choking and bad outfits, this must have been a Kirshner production.
I do remember briefly thinking this was pretty cool back in the day though (I was 11 years old). Edited by ClemofNazareth - October 09 2006 at 19:33 |

And just for contrast - a video from the same summer. I grew up a lot that summer. Apparently so did Kirshner . Edited by ClemofNazareth - October 09 2006 at 19:40 |

I was 7 years old, and I don't think that song ever charted in this country.
Correction: it reached #37 in the States. Not exactly a monster hit.

I was 8 and remember that on Top of the Pops.
Some of the Glam Rock stuff was good but the Rubettes and Bay City Rollers were yesterday's version of Boyzone and Westlife.
I always prefered Slade, T-Rex, The Who etc. Edited by Heavyfreight - October 11 2006 at 11:52 |

Now THAT'S prog! Wheeeeeeeee!
I remember it -- though it were best forgotten. I would have been 14, and puking in a sneering, superior fashion.
Now I can laugh -- thanks! Edited by Peter Rideout - October 11 2006 at 23:03 |

= By Saint Bruford's brazen balls, that's EVEN WORSE!
I used to sing along: "Billy, don't be a h*m*... and as he started to go, I said Billy give me a bl*w - whoa - whoa..."

Yeah, pretty nice, Atkinsgranny -- but too much mascara, and no man should ever move his bum like that!

According to an urban legend widespread here Kiss copied their mascaras from S & M.
On the other side, singer Ney Matogrosso (the one with the moving bum) was the first artist as long as I remember that left the closet publicly here - more than 30 years ago!

Okay -- one bad turn deserves another:
One of my all-time WORST 70s songs (and a huge hit) -- the very definition of SAPPY!
Ah, such masterful, moving lyrics: "We had joy, we had fun, you put something up my...."
I bet some of you actually like it -- admit it!
Such poetic pathos! Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!!!!! Edited by Peter Rideout - October 12 2006 at 00:09 |

I was told that sometimes Ney Matogrosso was arrested after such performances in his gigs. That should be too much for our so judicious dictatorship.

The
I suspected as much, you old softie! (I can just picture you now -- all alone in your candle-lit, lonely room, sobbing softly as you hugged your widdle wadio...)
Gah! Feed it to your capybara, pronto, and go listen to some muy macho Van Halen or Deep Purple, before it's too late!
Out, foul demons! Out!
