Hahahaha, can you believe it?
Scotland actually top of a group as of late!
And England shows us how much they are overrated when they play!

I think it would be safe to say that Mr McClaren's honeymoon period is certainly over...

I know, Ukraine will give us a sound thrashing, then Saturday will bring a return to Le Guens Ibrox nightmare.

... that's what I've always admired about Scotland supporters; ardent loyalty, tempered with a dose of realism and an ounce of self deprecation...
our mob seam to think they should be winning European and World championships of right, get put in groups with mediocre opposition, then squeal for Beckham/ blame Sven/ blame 3-5-2/ blame 4/4/2/ blame McClaren/ Venables/ Crouch/ Rooney's temper/ toe etc etc etc as soon as anything goes wrong....

You know, if Beckham wasn't there, I don't think England would even have made it to the Quarterfinals!
You know, Without Sven, England might have not even got to 3 Quarterfinals.
Without Rooney, England might have won that game against Portugal!
How ironic!

Calm down guys, we had one not so great performance. Nothing to do with Beckham.
And King's Of Loss, explain how we wouldn't have got to the quater finals without Sven?
Sven was an absolute monkey. Why bring 4 strikers - one injured, one just come back from injury, and WALCOTT about 3 years too early!!? Any sensible manager would have brought Defoe and Bent to play up front. Bringing Lennon was a good move though, I'll give him that.
I don't think Becks helped us too much this world cup either. And I think we have a stronger midfield now without him, as Gerrard can play on the right to accomodate Lampard. Cole - Lampard - Hargreaves - Gerrard. Find me a better midfield than that in the world?. Don't forget we've never had that yet with McLaren due to injuries

Um... Like almost every other European power team has a better midfield than that really.
Germany, Spain, Italy, France, Sweden, Israel, everyone!
I might kidded around a bit, but seriously, England sucks monkey balls when they really play. Gerrard and Lampard WILL NEVER work. You gotta drop one of those two and put in a player like Carrick and Hargreaves. Kinda controversal, but its very true. You can't have two players on a team, like Argentina didn't play Aimar and Riquelme together or play Zidane and another French playmaker together (That's why Jacquet dropped Cantona and that's why Johan Micoud isn't a well-known French player) Or a player like Beckham who probably is the best passer I've seen for England in a long time and don't forget Beckham's clutch shots! (Even though Euro 2004 was awful, but the free kicks are always timely.
No matter how sh*tty he defends, he's pretty hard to drop entirely from the squad that includes players that have not performed at all.
But England= Overrated, overhyped and overpaid. Even though, theres some hope, but theres little hope of winning anything, well until the next world cup in England.
So, what did you think of that "shocker" with Croatia! And Scotland obviously lost!

A brief period of mourning, methinks. Words fail me - we were competent (just about) in the first half and painfully embarassing in the second. Let's face it, Sven was doing better than any England manager for decades until the press started on him for having it off with his secretary - if they'd just left the Scandinavian love god get his oats it might all have been so different - he might have decided to include some strikers who were (a) match fit and (b) capable of kicking a ball in his last squad for starters.
Either that, or the flu bug I've got has really scrambled my braincells.

^^^ fair comment; the press has always been a problem for our national team manager; blimey, even Phil Scolari had a run in with them in the spring, and he hadn't even been offered the job!
sadly, whatever you think of McClaren, the vultures will start circling sooner rather than later owing to his lack of top class pedigree, and I'm not sure he will cope with the pressure... the ugly green snout of 'self fulfilling prophecy' will rear its ugly head, and we could fail to even qualify... ...then we'll be treated to regurgatated tabloid stories about Venable's premature departure last time to fight AMS in the courts...
on a brighter note, 6 months ago, a poor England performance being partly attributed to Hargreaves' absence would have been completely unthinkable!!

Well... Owen Hargreaves isn't that important. Its pretty much about the ineffectiveness of the "best player in the world" as described by Jose Mourinho of Frank Lampard. Lampard and Gerrard DOES NOT WORK! And I think its time to rethink the strategy of playing both!

As a Scotsman, it is with great pleasure to watch England getting stuffed, after all we're the past masters of it. However, all the crap over Paul Robinsonn being to blame for the 2nd Croatia goal is utter sh*te. If there is anyone in the whole wide world who, when a ball bobbles, just at the moment of near impact, can adjust their footing and wallop the ball, i'll give them £100 million. It is impossible, but the whole media fiasco surrounding this goal is unbeleivable. Only when the English media, and fans, accept that England are beatable then, and only then, will the witch hunting cease against their own players.
Take a tip form us Scots, we were humped by the Ukraine fair and squar, but most honest Scots would've gladly setled for 1 point, maybe 2 against Francs at home and Ukraine away. We got 3 and still top the group. If we beat Georgia home and away, then mayby just maybe, we can believe we can qualify for a major championship again, and once again the Tartan Army will hold it's head up high and embrace all things and everyone equal......are you watching England?
