PT played some great new material at a recent show in Boston, including a rather long epic.  The songs were all superb.  Does anyone know the names of any of these songs, or any details about them ?

I'm going to see them at the State Theatre this weekend. Can't wait. How much new material did they play? Did they play any of the old stuff?

Could you give me like a brief setlist from what you remeber

The first half of the show was almost entirely new material.  They then took a breif intermission and played (not in this order):

Open Car
Sound of Muzak
Arriving Somewhere but not Here
.3
Trains (Closer)
Halo (encore)

Alright, the rest of the set escapes me now; there were several more, but those were all highlights, definitely.

Thank you, I feel welcome Tongue

-All new songs-

+

Open Car

The Sound of Muzak
Buying New Soul
Arriving Somewhere but Not Here
.3
The Start of Something Beautiful
Trains
Halo
Blackest Eyes

that was the second half of the set list I guess. I took the list from a journal on last.fm but I'm pretty sure that this is accurate. FYI this was played in Hamburg.

I saw them last night. It was INCREDIBLE!
Great sound mix, great energy, great music, it was just GREAT.
Projeckt  6 played with them, and they were alright. Fripp was great, but i wasnt feeling the drums to much.

But right before PT went on, i was walking around, and i f**king see Jordan Rudess just hanging out, so I went up to him and talked for a little bit, he was a really cool dude.
Great night!
I can strangle a canary in a tin can and it would be really original, but that wouldn't save it from sounding like utter sh*t.

They don't have names yet. In the review's section there are a few comments on the new material. For me I thought the new stuff was excellent especially, 2,3, and 4. 3 (17 minutes) had to be my fav though.

I wonder if any of the guys from Rush will try and catch one of the shows?Lifeson was praising Deadwing and Neil Peart takes every opportunity to praise them,he's a big fan of In Absentia and Gavin Harrison.....anyone going to the LA gig on Oct 11 should look out for him.

Indeed!  I think it was in 'Traveling Music' that he quoted a line from 'The Sound of Musak' and went on about Gavin Harrisson, saying he had an 'elegant' drumming style...

Haha I think I would faint if I saw Peart.

Oh yeah and does anyone now about Project Sikx (sorry if i spelled that wrong), its Fripp and Adrian Belew, and from the names I got really excited, but does anyone know if they play new material or crimson covers, or a mix?

what does it sound like?

heavy like deadwing-ish or did they go back to the softer more mellow side?

I'm praying mellow, deadwing definitely was not a favorite of mine.

Lightbulb Son: A bit of both, but more Deadwing-ish than soft and mellow.

As for me, I love Deadwing.
