I get the occasional grey hair on the head which I permit for the time being, as a little snow on the roof is OK, so long as there's none in the grate.
What worries me more, though, is the occasional appearance of ginger hairs in my beard...

Amazingly, I don't have that much grey. I found my first ones in my early 30s. I think I even had more then. Of course, I was still married at that time.

On the subject of fireworks, this was a strange incident that freaked my wife and I out. As I said before, people in our neighborhood are still lighting of fireworks (the illegal kind) all the time so it's no big deal to hear the crackling and sizzle/boom. A few nights ago we were sitting quietly watching tv and we here this "BLAM!" which was obviously a gunshot and it sounded too close, like in our backyard. We both ducked down and I went to the back of our house and I hear drunking indecipherable yelling coming from our neighbors yard, so I knew it had to be coming from his house. A few minutes later and there was another "BLAM!" My wife told me to call the police, As I was on the phone to the police we hear "BLAM! BLAM! BLAM! BLAM!" by now my heart is pounding out of my chest. After a few minutes the police show up and search our neighbor's yard and house, then leave. What the hell? A few days later I was talking to another neighbor that is only home on the weekends, and I told her about the incident. She says "Oh yeah, he gets drunk and shoots his gun off into the mountain". Things have been quiet since that night.

I've been to a 50th birthday party myself and one thing is true... they know how to party! Never underestimate the older generation, because they can still get drunk and party like us young ones (well, less often for me now).

i assume you are from the USA, James.....correct me if i'm wrong but....
your neighbour should apologise for frightening half the street, but if this had happened in England his house would be surrounded by armed police and would have been made to surrender or be shot - and would be doing time for it!!
we don't like guns here! Any Presidential candidate proposing the abolition of the use of guns in the USA would be committing political suicide....? any views on this appreciated, but have a look at this.....

I find the use of guns REALLY scary! Here in the UK we don't see/hear guns! Occaisionally where we live we here them in the distance from a nearby farm and that scares the life out of me! And seeing armed police on British street is a very sad thing in my view.

[/QUOTE] I tell you MF I don't know what to make of it, if that was me out there drunkingly shooting a gun off into the night, I would expect to have been swarmed, then roughed up, then hauled off to jail for a stretch. How or why the police didn't find his gun and take him to jail that night is beyond me.

There was some talk a few pages back about good british comedy shows, I was wondering if anyone liked "Bottom" or "The Dangerous Brothers" with Rik Mayall & Adrian Edmondson? Also has anyone ever seen "Bad News" and "More Bad News"? although I love "This Is Spinal Tap", I found "Bad News" to be far superior to Tap.
