Yeah, huh? We all like prog, and those of us in this thread (claim to) have musicianship. So, what songs by progger do you claim to know?

I myself have scoured the internet for chords for a couple of Jethro Tull tunes (One White Duck, Locomotive Breath and With You There to Help Me); I also tried to learn Minstrel in the Gallery and Heavy Horses; that's takin' some time.

Tonight, I tried to find the chords to Your Move/I Seen All Good People, and couldn't! So I guess my second question is, if you do know of such a place, where are there (free would be nice) arragements for the taking?

Oh! I almost forgot! The best song I know is Wish You Were Here (Floyd) because I figured out the whole bum-budda-bum-BUM...bum-bum-bum-BUM-bum part. On my own. Chords I took from online. Heh.

I’ve been learning countless blues/jazz licks and tunes as well as notated classic and rock guitar theory. Wish You were here was the first real song I played and I put that into proper music my self (yes, I was very proud.)  These days I’m all into my classic guitar lessons and the most complicated song I can play is probably The Hermit by Steve Hackett or Clap by Steve Howe.

EDIT: Steve Howe plays the Chords to All Good People (and Wondrous Stories) on a Portuguese guitar…

The recent one I've learned is Asilos Magdalena from The Mars Volta. Another one I'm proud of is Genesis' Horizons.

Thumbs Up

As a drummer, I can play a good handful of Genesis and Gentle Giant songs, even some albums. However, I don't use notes, I use my ear. And if there are songs that I can master that well, I practice.

Some songs I can play:

Genesis - Watcher of The Skies, Get'em Out by Friday, Dance on a Volcano
Gentle Giant - The Advent of Panurge, The Runaway, Way of Life
Frank Zappa - Inca Roads
Brand X - Nuclear Burn

Most of those are pretty hard, but it's amazing what practice can doBig smile
