Just been looking at Kayo Dot's official site. She's not too shabby !

Say one or the other Faaip. Means the same thing. Bloody hard to translate into English. Something like 'thank you for working so hard'. Standard Japanese. (edit: make sure you say it after she has finished playing)
Back on topic. I've been playing Bondage Fruit's IV a lot recently. Absolutely killer ! Probably hard to find outside Japan. Anybody else aware of their genius ?

Hi Abs !
The thread is a place to talk about Zeuhl. Gonna upload some more pictures later. Just about to leave work now. Bloody 2 hour commute home !
Can, along with Magma are my top 2 ! Years back I got overcome with emotion at a Damo Suzuki live show an' jumped on stage and tried to French kiss him ! Bumped into him in Tokyo this year and shared a beer or three and was lucky to talk for over an hour with my hero. Very interesting character !

There were once actually two younger members (13 of age).
Anyway, did you go there, Yuko?

If Eskaton's '4 Visions' is a five-star release then their last recording (not including the unreleased 'I Wish') is a three. Very different in style and atmosphere from the aformentioned classic and her sister album 'Ardeur', moving to a more sparce, clinical sound. The synths have taken over and their hypnotically rhythmic bass-driven sound has all but disappeared. Still, it is not without its' charms. Not essential but certainly worth a listen. Just don't expect a repeat of their debut: |
