well, IMHO, there are two sides of it...

first of all, i don't like BN, i think is poor folk, and i'm sure Richie did it for Candice... so, no, since the motive wasn't need for expression via music, i don't agree with this project, even less for Christmas Carols...

still, i wouldn't expect anything great from him if he didn't go down that road... i mean, if he had Rainbow or was in Purple, he wouldn't change the history of music like he once did... he would probably release mediocre LPs like Purple do and just tour to perform his classics much like the best tribute band to himself... what i'm trying to say is i don't miss him from the rock map... and since he is commiting the most acceptable crime - submitting to his lady's will - just let the guy do whatever he likes... he's written his own gold pages in the big book of rock music, we will always love him and listen to his immortal rock anthems...

And the show is actually held/run by Candice's mother who acts as their manager.   Fortunately no-one is forcing me to listen to their stuff.     But I think it is time Ritchie stopped before BN is becoming ridiculous.
