I very much doubt it, Jim, scanning negs isn't very complicated at all, printing b&w in a dark room is rocket science in comparison!

Yep, that hasn't changed, if you want to watch great comedy shows watch the English ones. The Young Ones, dad's Army and such.......

i am amazed British comedy shows are so popular around the world, perhaps people share a love of the absurd? what do you find funny about them? all satirical comedy is popular in every nationality, that could be the key!

Pfff, that's not an easy question, yes the absurd types and absurd situations. They are very popular over here. The typical dry English humor. Have you ever watched German humor on German TV, it's terrible ( hope MikeEnragalia is not reading this )
The Dutch are not much better.

haven't seen much humour from other countries in Europe, i'm not really a fan of American humour - except Phil Silvers' "Sgt.Bilko", that was absolutely brilliant!!
i heard an example of Russian humour - a friend of mine was working in Moscow, where they wear those fur hats with the ear flaps - for a joke the Russians told him if you wore the hat with the flaps down it meant you were gay. his poor ears were nearly frost-bitten before he realised he was having his leg pulled!!!

Fawlty Towers is excellent stuff! I have just got my kids into it (we have the series on vhs) and they find it hilarious...............although they did work out where my partner gets most of his best jokes/quotes from!
Black Adder is also a favourite in this house, and Monty Python of course!

Our playground I recall had a rusty military airplane on it that the kids would climb all over until some totally bogus parents complained that we'd get hurt on the thing. They just recently upgraded the playground in the park to have plastic equipment on this rubber stuff and signs designating the age groups that can play on each set. What fun is that if you cannot risk getting launched into the air on a see saw or get kicked in the head by a kid twice your age on the jungle gym?
