I really don't understand how Discipline is neo prog. Taking so much from VDGG and symphonic bands, it would probably fit into something more flexible, like art rock... I really don't hear anything resembling the common "neo" patterns in them. I like them a lot, by the way.

<<Try "Believe" by Pendragon, if you found Masquerade Overture 'not the thing for you' you will find some different sounds and structures on Believe, check out some of the samples on the website (www.pendragon.mu) I was (and still am) amazed by this album! >>
Believe is a good place to start. Also, I've had Not Of This World on in the car's player and that could be my favorite Pendragon. Well, second to Masquerade Overture, however. E |

I do recall you saying that there's a lot of sh*tty Neo-Prog out there. But on the whole: |

Who, me?
Oh........yeah......
SINISTER STREET — The Eve Of InnocenceReview by stonebeard (Andrew)SPECIAL COLLABORATOR Neo-Prog Specialist The Eve of Innocence is not a perticularly remarkable album. Sinister Street hasn't emerged from the 80s blazing new trails with an immediatly effective and emotive style. To the contrary, they've basically stuck with the same sound that so many Neo Progressive bands have worn to death. For a relative reference, the musical style on The Eve of Innocence is quite similar to Pendragon's The Jewel and the lesser-known (and not entirely without reason) Solitary Witness by Landmarq. |

Please stop reminding me of that album. I might just fall into a coma.
Totally agree. Not of This World is such an underrated album. |

Eh, but there's crap music out there everywhere. I've had the misfortune of buying discs by Kayak and Ayreon without sampling anything, only to regret it. Fool me once, shame on me. E |

Baris Manco,Erkin Koray,Cem Karaca,Mogollar,3 Hürel,Selda,Edip Akbayram,Fikret Kizilok,Ersen (and Dadaslar) (but stick with the '70's, and 'early 80's!) |

I'm still can't agree with DISCIPLINE's definition(I believe they're Sympho),but they're great anyway COLLAGE - Moonshine Best Neo not from Marillion/IQ THE WATCH - just stunning!!! SHADOWLAND - Clive Nolan's best(IMO),better than all ARENA/PENDRAGON/etc taken together! CLEPSYDRA,RED SAND and LA TULIPE NOIRE - good Marillion clones MINDGAMES,GRAND STAND,AD INFINITUM,AUFKLARING,GALLEON,GREY LADY DOWN,LANDMARQ,MAGENTA,QUIDAM,MIRAGE,IL TRONO DEL RICORDI,PUPPET SHOW,RAEL,CITIZEN CAIN,NYL - New Symphonic/Neo bands worth checking |

Ayreon = meh, and so is Kayak for the most part. but I do like their album Merlin... It's a great rock opera. Sure it's a bit cheesy, but who cares! very queen-esque. |
