Guys, what is the use of resurrecting such a negative thread? After over one year of well-deserved silence, it was better left dead and buried... In my very humble opinion, such threads are potentially dangerous, as well as being totally useless.

Agreed this thread should be locked.
BTW it's Dream Theatre or Genesis.

Why is Asia the most desastrous prog-rock band? Enlighten me with a logical explanation.

Porcupine Tree is the biggest load of sh*t I've ever heard. Steve Wilson may accuse The Flower Kings that they're killing prog-rock because they're copying Yes, but all PT has ever done is just mixing Floyd's "Interstellar Overdrive", "Saucerful of secrets" and "On the run", and upgrading it for the 21st century. ABSOLUTE RUBBISH!

Steve Wilson has actualy come to prog archives told us that he was very wrong in making that comment about the Flower Kings, and that he aplogized to the band shortly after he made the comment.
As for "Porcupine Tree is the biggest load of sh*t I've ever heard" well that's just an opinion (a bad one, but still an opinion). The "but all PT has ever done is just mixing Floyd's "Interstellar Overdrive", "Saucerful of secrets" and "On the run", and upgrading it for the 21st century. ABSOLUTE RUBBISH" is completly off the mark though. PT does borrow some sounds from PF (something never comes from nothing), but they have achived their own sound that many bands are now following.
Porcupine Tree is amazing.

I think calling a band “bad” is unfair. You may call Collins-era Genesis bad but in the end it’s an occupation. Musicians have to make a living some way, should we really condemn them for that?

Well we can atleast agree that forexample Ricky martin is a terrible artist? I hope that are not many at this forum that disagree |
Hey, don't mess with Rocky, LOL. I guess is hard to say who's the worst prog band ever, but here in PA the worst is Lacrimosa.

I won't name any unknown band as hundreds I may be able to find which are terrible, for sure. This may irritate some people though. I had always thought Le orme and Eloy were good, or great bands. Until I really had a chance to listen to them in full. What a disgrace. I couldn't find a single space of music from their very best regarded albums that doesn't sound cheese and artificial. This is the classical example of prog for the sake of being prog. So impersonal, so boring, dull and "intentional".
These are in my mind the worst bands in prog. Among the popular ones.

Dream Theater and The Mars Volta. I can't stand either of these bands in the least.

Ricky Martin is not a terrible artist. He's just not an artist, period.
And my least favorite is probably either The Mars Volta or Asia.
