Was anyone at the show at the Woodlands Pavillion by chance? I was and it was my first time seeing Tool in a live setting.

Isis was the opening act and they did pretty well for themselves, even though they were not loud enough! The only complaint that I have for this band is that I find their songs to be way to predictable. They had many interesting parts and sequences in each song, but too many things reminded me of the songs that they played before. They were still worthy of the support slot for Tool though and gave a good show. I wish I would have been able to see them with the mighty King Crimson or Meshuggah years before!
 
The Tool concert was great, but it fell short of the money that I spent. Unfortunately Maynard (vocalist) was ill and unable to perform to the potential I know and have heard he is capable of. Along with that, his stage antics were not nearly as perverse and fanatical as I have seen from live pictures and so forth. Despite this, Maynard was very apologetic and even had a moment of silence for those who were lost and affected by the attacks 5 years before.

The light show was unlike anything i've ever seen at a concert before, really awesome stuff.

The setlist was not of my dreams, but they threw in what i'd consider 5 classic Tool songs.

- AEnima
- Lateralus (Awesome)
- Schism
- Stinkfist (At least they opened with this one, bringing some of the absent perversion that is characteristic of older Tool.) P.S. i'm joking with the whole pervesion thing, I know it's meant to be taken lightly.

I think the concert would have been much better when they came around years back, when Lateralus was their latest album. This and if I was a bit younger, I believe I would of enjoyed it much more. I do not want to sound condescending, but Tool was mainly a "gateway" band for me, a band that helped me discover how much you can push music as a creative force. Therefore most of their stuff with the exception of a few songs and the whole of "Lateralus", is not as exciting to me anymore. Good times, had by myself and the others that I was with though!

I'm seeing them in january in sydney...i hope they deliver on the price i paid, still looking forward to them though!

I can't wait to share this new wonder...The people will all see its light!

Well I have talked to a couple of friends and they say that Maynard has postponned a couple of shows after the Houston dates. So hopefully all will be well by the time he gets to Australia!

Now I have to look forward to seeing Kansas on Oct. 14th
