All of the albums represent fine musicianship while the styles between them are noticeably different. I chose "Machine Head" for the longer, more improvised pieces, but "In Rock" is equally groundbreaking and "Who do we think we are" is not a bad album at all. "Fireball" is also very good, except for the title song which I dislike - apart from the too short bass solo.

Heavy Prog is more of a preference to me too, than the Proto-prog label. The latter is far too offensive. Under Heavy Prog, one day we may even see Led Zeppelin here? Never too soon.

Almost a tie between In Rock and Machine Head. Almost. In Rock is more original and divertive, Machine Head is stronger in terms of musicianship (all in my opinion, obviously...). But Machine Head has some unnecessary (for me, once again) material, whereas In Rock hasn't, therefore I'll vote for In Rock.

Is there really any doubt? In Rock!

You've just had a heavy session of electroshock therapy, and you're more relaxed than you've been in weeks.
