 Topic: Best Vocal Harmonies

It's one of the things I love about music. It gets you right in the chest. It makes you wish your voice was about 7 octaves higher. Yes, folks... I'm talking about prog vocal harmonies. We've all heard ones that we love. Now is the time to express those joys to the world.
My personal favorite is Starship Trooper by Yes. Although, that one line from Dogs as well...
"You'll reap the harvest you have sown..."

Yes. Every song Yes makes just has teh best vocal melodies.
There are also a few good ones from Ayreon but i don't know which

I'm a big Harmony Nut.
There are tons of great harmonies.
I think Yes has most of the best. Porcupine Tree's Harmonies are great as well. Gentle Giant  Floyd, Symphony X, Flower Kings But then there are The Beatles... Showtunes, Barbershop Quartets, Mozart, System of a Down, Dispatch, Muse, Queen.
Overall I think Non-Prog does better vocal harmony than Prog, but there are some truly great moments with vocal harmony in prog.

I love the harmonies on "Ghost of Perdition" and "Bleak", as well as the ones on "Piano Lessons" and many other PT songs...I think my favorite harmonies in general have to come from Pink Floyd though

Knots and and On Reflection are groundbakely incredible pieces.
Its songs like that that make me realize that Gentle Giant is the GREATEST prog band ever, if not the greatest band. period.

And when you watch this Gentle Giant video, it only makes it clearer!!!
On the Prog-Related scene, The Alan Parsons Project make good use of harmonies as well, especially when they have Chris Rainbow on board, like in the tracks 'Gemini' from the Eye In The Sky Album, or 'Destiny' from the Freudiana album

If vocal harmonies are the thing, then I'm going with Porcupine Tree. All I have to do is mention "The Sound of Muzak" and most of you will know what I'm talking about, although I think my favorite are the heavenly vocals in "Glass Arm Shattering"..... ohhhhhhhhh.... orgasmic....

"Knots" features spelendid vocal harmonies, however, I believe that the begining of "Adavant of Prangue" "Dog's Life" and "Think of me with Kindness" feature meore exemplary vocal harmonies on Octopus. "Knots" comes in forth.
All albums considered, "Knots" is one of their better tracks.

the ending of "Heart Attack In A Layby" from in absentia is one of my favorites. A lot of Pink Floyd. Echoes, and pretty much anything else with Gilmour and Wright singing together. Alice In Chains (not prog, sorry) The ones in "Wings For Marie" by Tool. A lot of Yes. Also I dont know why but in The Musical Box by Genesis i really like the harmony on the words "half world" when he says "I am lost within this half world", also Gentle Giant seems to always have some wonderful harmonies, I especcialy love the second track from "In A Glass House" (the title escapes me" but its the one with all the Vibes and marimba and timpani and whatnot.

What about Echolyn, they built there whole career on complex melodies. The whole "As the World" album is a testament to this. I can't even really name a particular song because almost every single song of there's is loaded with vocal harmonies. They took what Gentle Giant was doing, but polished it and did it on-block.

4. For God's sake people, listen to "The Dark Third" by Pure Reason Revolution for harmonies that are every bit as good as the three I listed above. Specifically the song "The Exact Colour".
