I don't belive it should be.
 
Some religious beliefs can be supported or shown clearer through science.

Scientific facts are based on calculations and observations and religious facts are based on interpretations of history, are they not?

Well, a conclusion reached by certain scientists is always questioned by other scientists, therefore leaving no place for absolutes, at the opposite of religion.  Isn't it one of science's high points, to always question itself ?

Isn't it due to the Christian institution's hypocrisy and thirst for power in the middle of the last millenium that they were separated, except when science served Christianity's interests?
