I am not sure if you read this so I'll repost it here:
Adam, in order for you to vote on the list (http://www.progtology.com/home/progarchives/razchart.xhtml), you need to signup to Mike's website www.progtology.com and then ask mike (either by PM here in PA or through his forum in his site) to add you to the list.
Oh and go here:
It is our teams' thread |

Tahnks Assaf,
I have signed up with progtology this morning under Black_Velvet. I wil give Mike a PM very soon in regards to getting added to the list. I have been slowly shifting through the team's thread and I will start becoming a little more active. I should be able to vote for a lot of the bands. I'm having a bit of computer troubles at the moment, I managed to distroy the HDD in my parents computer, so please excuse if I am a litlte slow with things it is this dam computer I have found myself to use for the mean time. |

Feather Float
Releases information Japan LP/CD: Trattoria MENU 221 - 1999 (CD)/2000 (LP) The original Japanese LP and CD releases in Japan for Feather Float were in 1999, until Polystar released them again in 2000. Birdman probably released it in the US in 2001, but I need evidence. Thanks for the kind words Adam. If you can assist me with further information, I'd be grateful. A couple of bits of information I am seeking, are in reference to the debut. I believe eYe sang on "Speaker", rather than used electronics. I also need to know what Keigo Oyamada's (aka Cornelius) role was on the album, besides being the owner of the now defunct Trattoria records (who released Feather Float). I hope that helps. Once more, congratulations on your new position, I know you'll be a great asset to the RIO/Avant-prog team with your thorough knowledge. Edited by Geck0 - September 03 2006 at 20:11 |

Thank you for this informartion James. I was looking at the birdman
record release dates. In the US it was released on 24 April 2001, 25th
here is Australia. I was unawear of the Japanese releases.
I don't think I am going to be of much help with their debt as this is the only one I don't know anything about. |

Yoroshiku ! Have France's 'Xaal' had a mention on this thread yet ? I'm listening to their 2nd (and presumably last) 'Seconde Ere' cd as I type and what a mellow but kickin' slice of brie it is. Imagine a voiceless Rush cover band tackling Happy Family and Agitation Free at Miles Davis's funeral as the in-house band. Only better. |

I've heard of them... I think they may have been mentioned over the past 46 (46 ) pages.
They sound interesting though Yukorin. |

46 pages indeed! It's nice to have found some fellow RIO/Avant-Progheads I have heard of Xaal as well. I have never actually heard any of their music though. |

I don't particulary agree with the reviewer but... http://www.aural-innovations.com/issues/issue11/hellbore.html One of the greatest records I ever heard. Created by The Gods of some mysterious force and land (possibly France) and so forward-thinking you will convince yerself this is Tortoise meeting Erik Satie in an all smoking Starbucks chewing on the merits of post-VCN Boredoms. Released in '85. Farkin' astonishing ! |

Just voted in favour of Aleuchatistas (or however you spell it). Glad to see OOIOO included, just downloaded Green & Gold from emusic and I'm busy getting acquainted with it. Along with about a zillion other things ...

I was just wondering whether anyone could tell me if this band is worth
my while. Sorry if some of this doesn't really make much sense but it
has been translated from Japanese. Most of the information does not
seem to be in my native tongue so I am having a little bit of trouble.
The band in Question here is: ZOIKHEM The chamber lock project “ZOÏKHEM” of France. Frank [sumaizu] of 95 year drum forms. It seems like that solo project of substance. In 97 you debut with two works. With [pakatsushivu] as for incantation chamber sound sound of the Recommended Record type whose today influence of the classic is strong. If it comes with the baritone where the drum used the language in regard to creation with the leader you think in MAGMA and how one which does not hit has done, but there is also a running impression really the MAGMA wind being heavy. Until sound meta physical approach seems surely the French musician. ZOIKHEM Requiem
Vox Clamantis In Deserto

With the exictment you get from this album. I think this is going to have to quite high on my to get list. Though I have to say the Tortoise is a little of putting (not a big fan of the band), but the Erik Satie gets my blood flowing. Also love the review you did, I see it has been amended from the first time I looked at it |

Yes, Yuk, I think there are few Boredoms fans on the forum. I seem to
be get rather ecxited about them. Them and Keiji Haino were my first
introductions in the Japanese scene so they have a special place for
me. I think my sig in a good indication of this.
No I didn't know the was a box set of Vision Creation Newsun. Is this a Japanese release? What extra features does it possess? |

Yeah I like that sig BV ! VisionCreationNewsun boxset came with a T-shirt, the regular cd and a bonus cd gatefold (different artwork), stickers, and a device set inside the box that, when you hold it near an electric light or somewhere hot makes random electronic sounds ! It's at my old apartment at the minute but if you are interested in seeing pics I can post them in the future. Not so rare in Japan. Probably a few offered on eBay (or Yahoo Auctions Japan) but expect to pay through the nose |
