OK, I hope it will be the same interesting thread as Prog Andaluz, very inspiring ! If only music was the language there would be much more peace on this planet, I would allowe the global politicians only to play some tambourin, triangle or maraccas ....

I think it would Erik.. especially for those of us who have thought previously that prog began and ended for the most part with what came out of Europe. |

I stumbled upon this website, I'm not sure whether it was mentioned here before. It seems to be a site dedicated to the topic of this thread...I'll take a deeper look into it later http://www.dlsi.ua.es/~inesta/Prog/ http://www.dlsi.ua.es/~inesta/Prog/LCDM/index.html Edited by avestin |

I once made a promise to Erik to review several albums from the Spanish prog scene.
Well today after months of delay, I managed to review Mezquita - Recuerdos De Mi Tierra (4 stars). I hope to reach others as well, but I think it will take me several more months.
By the way, for those who joined us recently, enjoy discovering this thread.

Avestin, I just read your review about Mezquita, very warm and elaborate, great !
Micky: I am very curious to your review about the new Kotobel ....

Micky, keep in mind that after a first listening session, I was shocked by the opera-like vocals ...... but gradually I started to appreciate these vocals and eventually I got the opinion that the vocals match perfectly with the captivating and unique symphonic prog by Kotobel ! |

oh god Erik... I have a thing for that style of singing.... I took to it immediately.... I posted as much in the what's in the CD player thread.. they match perfectly and it a damn great album... may be another 5 star album for modern symphonic prog. I'd like to hear some others of their before going that high though.. may be 4 until I have something to judge their 'progression' upon. A great recommend... |

By the way, if you want to discover some amazing flamenco guitar music, check out the mindblowing DVD by Vicente Amigo entitled Ciudad De Las Ideas, excellent and very compelling new flamenco guitar music, inspired by the great Paco De Lucia
