I was wondering why Labrie's voice got on my nerves and someone mentioned "howling" and that's it! He howls. Just listen to the cover medley on Change of Seasons: The Turn it on Again section. When I heard this for the first time it actually angered me. But there are MUCH worst than Labrie not mentioned here.

Don't see any problem with them. BTW, I find Chris Farlowe the most annoying singer in all prog scene - his work with Colosseum made this otherwise excellent band sounds awful to me. Only his version of "Theme for an Imaginary Western" is good.

There is no Yes without J. Anderson (T. Horn tried to be like Anderson on "Drama", but he failed). There is no Rush without G. Lee.
Is there DT without J. LaBrie? I don't know...
No vote.

There is no prog without Rush and Yes.

Sorry that I don't have time to read the whole thread so don't blame me if these are already mentioned. And anyway this is my opinion .
Most annoying is Sonja Kirstina or what ever from Curved air. Really a showstopper.
Second on my list is Wolfgang Wessely from Kyrie Eleison.
Third Phil Collins and his ascending downdowndown in seconds out.
I do also have a problem with Peter Hammill. I just can't stand his artificial, voice. Just like in those cheep outdoors theaters where unskilful but eager people overact. Don't jump on me, please, I do admire his musical achievements and try to listen to them but there is just this thing.
Oh yeah: I voted "All great, what's the problem"

I think they're all great.
And what the hell is wrong with feminine vocals?

i don't like Labrie that much but in a way, since he's been DT's singer during all these glorious years, i can't think of anyone else behind the microphone...

All great, what´s the problem? Ok, I admit that LaBrie gets a little annoying some times, but I like his voice most of the time.

You've just had a heavy session of electroshock therapy, and you're more relaxed than you've been in weeks.

It's a shame to see Jon Anderson's name on this list. His voice is a gift from heaven. I'd probably buy his records if he was lounge singer. Don't have a problem with Geddy or LaBrie either.

La Brie easily...
Lee and Anderson were parts of their groups sound and their
character...La Brie... could it honestly be said that another vocalist
might not make the group better.... hmmm..

If Jon Anderson only had a sense of syntax and semantics! Does he have brain damage or something?

All three are my favorite prog vocalists!!!! They are all fantastic, especially Geddy who, in pre-80's Rush, had my favorite voice.

I'm only posting to defend my dear friend Geddy. He may not be the typical rock singer, but his 80's vocals were awesome on Signals, Moving Pictures, and Power Windows.

Well i think 2 of them (Anderson and Labrie) are 2 of my favorite vocalists of all time, and it's sad to see votes for them, especially Anderson. Geddy is also by no means a bad vocalist, quite the contrary. So it's none of the above here.

I'm shocked that anyone voted for Geddy Lee. What would Rush be without him!?
He is their sound.

I don't know much of Dream Theater at all, so I can't pronounce myself
about his voice... but I can for sure say I love Anderson's and greatly
dislike Lee's. Geddy Lee frankly sounds like he'd better be part of a
Boys' Band than a prog rock group.
Evidently, I voted for Geddy. Or rather, against Geddy.
